  • Goalkeepers

In another shambles of a summer transfer window, we do seem to have managed to acquire at least one gem, Martin Dubravka. What Newcastle's thinking was I have no idea, but in my humble opinion, Nick Pope isn't fit to lace his boots. Sadly at his age there is no sell on value, nevertheless what a brilliant acquisition he has been, all credit to whoever made the decision to sign him when his career seemed all but over.

Pope and Dubravka are both excellent goalkeepers, along with about 100,000 Geordies I have no idea why Howe let Dubravka come to Burnley.

The million dollar question now is can we keep him for at least one more year?

He saved one from Solanke in the second half and my grandson said, "He's like a cat!" Hard to argue with that!

Agree 100% Peter Bonetti would have been proud of that save. The good thing is that goalkeepers, like Tom, can play into their ? senior ? years so he may get several seasons out of him.

Give him the Player Of The Year award now. No other player will come anywhere near him. If it wasn’t for him, we’d be even worse off than we are.

He wasn’t class at West Ham, cost us there and gave negative impetus to us and positive to them

Cheers Alfie, let me know, winners are bloody hard to come by at the moment, even had TWO jockeys fall off this last week.
