  • Salaaries - Are we getting any value for money???

Looking at details relating to our players.

Salaries range from £97,000 per week down to £20,000 per week. That covers 38 players with a weekly base total of £1,068,000 an average of £29,666 per week. That is worth about £1.5m per year.

In addition there are bonuses earned by each player, all differ but the total bonuses being £13,800,000 which equates to approx £380,000 per player - unclear how bonuses are earned or lost.

All that amounts to approximately £158m per annum. Over the 38 players that gives an average of £4.16million per player. I am sure we would all agree those players in the main are handsomely paid for playing for our club especially when the club in playing so badly.

Now similar figures cannot be extracted for Mansfield. The team that embarrassed us Mansfield. I would first congratulate Mansfield because one thing I would say they never gave up and deserved their win. However, the total gross salaries of Mansfield amount to £5,404,000 covering 27 players approx £200,000 per player per year, compared to our figure of approx £4.16 million per player.

Forgetting the Premier comparisons I cannot accept we are getting any VFM when we compare our £4.15 m per player per year compared with Mansfield's £200k per player per year.

    The differences are mind blowing.

What this tells me ist hat Alan Pace has no idea what constitutes good value for money for the players he has bought and employed. If I was investing the kind of money he claims he is I would be going ballistic with the Players and Manager and maybe others involved in recruitment.

Finally I am beginning to think that I do not want to be part of a club where consequences are not meted out to those who clearly are not pulling their weight on or around the pitch.

Some might point at details but the fact remains but no matter how you slice and dice the figures the vfm is mainly lost because of attitude and aptitude of the players. They need a rocket.

Ward Prose is on 97k a week, and looking at his performance against Mansfield he shouldn't be on anymore than 10.

Tell you all what I have done. I have given away my season ticket on the proviso I can have it back if Parker gets the sack. If not I have lost my ST and then the decision is do I renew. Well getting rid of a manager get team selection wrong 2 times in the cups and get rid of players who cannot raise their game when going behind against lowly teams. So if Alan Pace does not have the ?? to deal with underperformers then why should I watch such rubbish. It does raise the question (forgetting football) what is the business reason and objective to buying a football club ??

Lancaster I?ve said for so long now that it?s a joke - Parker has to go and he?s so out of his depth it?s un real

I have no idea why the hierarchy can?t see what?s happening- I didn?t even go on yesterday because I knew what was coming

The man says he?d walk away if the owners dont think he?s up to it so over to pace and co now

Let?s get him out and someone in who
Understands football at this level. And can pick and get the best players playing

It?s never been more obvious he?s lost the plot.

I?ve said before Lancaster if he stays I won?t be renewing mine and my dad?s tickets.

If our annual wage bill really has reached ?158m per annum, we'll be in Admin before the year's out.

He's borrowing to keep us afloat mon ami, that's OK until his creditors get impatient, then the $hit will hit the fan - BIG time. What happened to JJ Watts ten million "investment"?

I reckon he will HAVE to sell 100 million quidsworth of players in June/July just to keep us going in 2027.

What's worse is that scale of player departures will truly decimate the squad and ruin next season completely.

We are thin now, think what we will be like without the likes of Esteve, Ekdal, Sonne, Mejbri, Anthony, Edwards, Foster and Flemming?

Never mind BT, you can rely on AI to find the answer, it seems that it is the answer to everything these days except for people like me who just get on with life.

Let's face it, even outside of football in all walks of life, we are not getting value for money from lots of people. Civil servants, politicians, CEOs etc., etc. and that is why the country is going down the drain.

I'm not disputing your figures Lancy, they may well be right, I just hope to god they're not. The last time we were in the PL under Kompany, our wage bill was 93 million pounds and we posted a loss of 29 million pounds, (figures from the Annual Accounts).

If the wage bill has gone up by 65 million, although other figures might make better reading, that indicates we could be heading for a loss of not far short of 100 million pounds, and if we lost that much in one season I don't see us continuing as a going concern. Let's hope that 158 million is wrong.
