The Clarets begin their return to the English Premier League this Saturday against a new look Tottenham Hotspur who are sporting a new manager and like Burnley have several new additions to add to their own disappointing team of last season.
Burnley boss Scotty Parker will be able to choose a side from the majority of last season’s promotion winning team as well as select from thir**** new addition to his Clarets’ playing squad. Trafford, Egan Riley and Brownhill have left leaving holes to fill, but it is pretty clear we have made serios efforts to bung the void with the signings of Martin Dubravka, Lesley Ugochukwa and Armando Broja.
It is not hard to conclude there will be a degree of uncertainty for Scotty to formulate a game-by-game plan welded to a team selection with half a dozen players at least needing a period of bedding in. The possibilities for Clarets fans are thrilling but, we must also allow for some teething troubles as Scotty works out his best starting eleven and bench options.
I know the opening game is five days away but go on then, give your suggested best starting eleven a shot.
Providing they are all fit, I’m going with Dubravka, Walker, Ekdal, Esteve, Hartman, Laurent, Larsen, Mejbri, Cullen, Anthony & Foster. Substitutes: Weiss, Tuanzebe, Edwards, Koleosho, Broja, Ugochukwu & Flemming.
Three points would be very nice but I will happily settle for a draw.

Assuming they're all match fit, which is highly unlikely, this is the team I'd play.

        Dubravka
        Walker, Worrall, Esteve, Hartman.
        Edwards, Ugochukwu, Hannibal, Anthony
        Flemming, Broja.

Just read that the eejits from the PMGOL have Oliver on VAR duty for the Friday night game at Bournemouth. He won't get to bed before midnight and then he has to referee a game on Saturday afternoon. The EPL madness begins in earnest.

Bloody hell sinkov, I'm quicker than Worrall.

Steeeeve has enough pace for two men, besides which this is the Land of the Giants, Joe is bigger, taller, older and more experienced in the PL than Ekdal. You worry about that big South African lummox you've picked up top, and I'll worry about Joe at the back.

When Tuanzebe, Humphreys and Beyer become available they will presumably get selected ahead of Ekdal and Worrall.

He will be in Uxbridge on Friday as VAR and will be staying in the locality so he will be approximately 22 miles, at most, from the Tottenham Stadium. I think that I could handle that easily enoughand I definitely know that Michael can.

No pressure then mein freund. No loss of concentration, no tiredness, no being a fallible human being being exposed to intense media scrutiny?

                      It's a joke.

Yes, every official deals with that in every game and they still carry on and do the job, in spite of the media and pundits who get money for nothing.

Stop your mithering mon ami, you should have seen the clown refereeing Clitheroe v Trafford tonight. If you had you wouldn't be moaning about Oliver.

Haha. You still managed the win though so you must be up near the top with a 100% record.
I was at Ashington who were playing one of the favourites for promotion. Bishop Auckland, who have spent a lot of money this season, in fact, one of their players is under contract and getting paid more each week than the whole Ashington squad!
We hit the woodwork 3 times during the match but Bishops scored with one of their few attacks in the first half. We still went at them throughout the second half but all looked lost until, in the 3rd or 4 added minutes we scored the equaliser and then nearly won it.

Smashing game of football and good to see teams going forward and getting crosses into the box instead of backwards and square passing. Well earned first point of the season but no game on Saturday because other clubs involved in FA Cup.
