  • Old habits die hard

Once again we?re at it after working hard first half - we?re now back to letting runners go and not close enough to mark people - allowing ball delivered into our box and we wander why we get spanked.

The manager says he?s comfortable with his contract situation ( I?ll bet he is )

    Here I go again

F off Parker enough is enough.

Well said Army.Get our nose in front and as usual try to defend that slender lead, allow them to come on to us followed by the inevitable collapse. It is oh so predictable and frankly boring to watch. You know what is going to happen as soon as we score. He has to go.
What gets me is that even last season it was obvious we were useless going forward and by October last year a blind man and his dog could see that Cardy was not up to the task then why is he still in a job.The board are either incompetent and/or skint.Probably the latter.
Good luck to them next year if they retain his services because I will not be watching any more games until he leaves.

Scott Parker appears to have a knack of turning a winning position into a defeat, by changing tactic during the game. Just when Anthony was starting to get crosses into their box he was substituted, Parker appears to be getting more incapable every match.

I don?t know about you vintage but for me it?s not acceptable anymore - I think he?s toxic and it?s affecting the club.

IMO it?s gone too far now it?s killing the club and supporters - I watched today and I can see Why we paid the money for ward prowse in his defence he still kept trying but I feel for him and walker they look for forwards passes but we simply don?t offer.

As you say Parker?s subs offered absolutely nothing

Some don?t even look interested - I?m absolutely sick
Of his drivel tbh it?s depressing

Pace needs to make his kind up sharpish as my season ticket has renewed but if he stays I won?t be going on.

It was a choice between watching Italian Job 1969 or our game. You’re only supposed to blow the bloody doors off, Parker has the accent but always finds the trapdoor, With Army, F O Parker and try to be progressive again. Italian job still a good watch

Wish I?d done something like that Dave - I?ve been decorating at home started early to watch today - I?m at a complete loss as to what we actually do at Gawthorpe - I?ve been saying for weeks the absolute basics in football are not used by us which for me is absolutely criminal - it?s embarrassing for a premier league club imo anyway.

There is absolutely no way I am watching any more of this $hit while Parker is still in charge. No chance!

We are relegated. We all know that.

I foolishly hoped that we would, at least, give it a go. We would still have gone down 4-1 (maybe - we made Forest look good) but at least we could have some pride in their effort,

But no - we go 1 up and then go on the defensive. We are so brilliant, in Parker’s mind, that we can defend a 1 goal lead against a PL team.

                Talk about blind faith.

Like you Army I am sick to the back teeth with Parker's style of play and the use of the players at his disposal.
As for Alan Pace, we are either skint and cannot fund Parker's dismissal or he is living in another world.

What on earth the voracious Viking Haaland & Co will do to us on Wednesday is anyone's guess.

It's not escaped my notice, so it won't have escaped Pep's, that GD could be crucial in deciding the PL this season. So City will be primed to rack up as many as they can against us. God help us.

We had one of our young lads on loan at Clitheroe a couple of months ago (I'm not naming him), he was playing on the right side of a back three and picked the ball up to take a throw-in, he made a complete arse of it and it was a foul throw. Five minutes later and he had another go and made a right horlicks of this one as well, another foul throw. It dawned on everyone that the poor kid hadn't the first idea how to take a throw in, and when he went to take the next one our centre-half told him to leave it and he'd take it. He didn't take another throw in for the rest of his loan spell.

This pantomime left quite a few Clitheroe fans asking the same question as Army, just what on earth do they actually do at Gawthorpe all week ?

Interesting point, sinkov, because every PL game and many other games in the EFL have innnumerable foul throws taken which are ignored almost every time. I watch Academy games and a lot of the officials just let those go as well, therefore, your tale about this lad does not surprise me one bit.

Of course, the problem then is that, if the officials enforce The Laws of the Game in respect of throw ins, they will be classed as nit picking and promoting themselves, therefore, as per instructions, they let them go and also ignore so many other Laws because they are instructed to 'let the game flow' All well and good, however, the Laws are ignored too much and this encourages players to puch this even further. Give me non-league every time when the Laws of the Game are enforced and, in the main, foul throws are given.

Just a note in finishing, Ashington won at Brighouse on Saturday and ensured that they won't be relegated this season with one game left to play at home on Saturday. It's been a hard season and I hope that things will improve next season and they will avoid the struggle.
