  • ALK Capital / Velocity Sports PL record

Just read a post on another board :-

Burnley FC in 132 PL games pre 30th Dec.2020 Played 132 Won 44 Lost 55 Avg. 1.25 points per game.

Burnley FC post Dec 30th 2020 Played 132 games Won 22 Lost 74 -100 goal diff. Avg. 0.77 points per game and 3 relegations in 3.5 seasons.

    Enough said.Damning stats.
Total incompetence from the owners to the board, to the recruitment team, to the set piece coaches, to our latest manager and the players.Failure at every level.

We went from being the surprise story of the PL, surviving and competing on a shoes string and sometimes beating the best teams in the league with a team of honest professionals who gave their all for the shirt and a manager who got the best out of them to the current laughing stock of overpaid here today gone tomorrow mercenaries who are more concerned about their latest hair styles and tatoos than whether we win or not led by a man who refuses to admit he is not up to the job after telling us last year he would be the first to admit that and leave.

I cannot abide anymore yoyoing CiB. I'm done attending matches for the foreseeable future, but I'll always be a Claret.

In the last 5 years, the only slver lining was the season in the Championship under Kompany.Everything else has been shoite.I have had enough like you BT.

Bank of grandad/dad costs me for away games ?300.00 and around ?200.00 for home games. I buy the petrol, the food, the tickets and the "incidentals". And all we get is dross. Enough is enough. Even the kids have had enough.

Whilst a lot of that I agree with CIB I can?t drop all the blame at AlK s door , they have supported the manager and tried to do the right thing - I think in truth when VK was here they supported him and in truth his name encouraged young players to come.

Since then we simply don?t have that or his gung ho forward thinking football , yes the owners have made mistakes but you could forgive them for sticking with the manager when he got them promoted ( but not for this long granted )

My only other opinion is that within the dates you stated the premiership has improved year on year and it?s harder to compete if you just don?t get things right

Parker has Not got things right and we are sadly paying for it now ( this season has pretty much ruined the club ).

For once, I disagree Army. The buck stops with the owners. They recruited the manager, the recruitment team, the set piece coach and they were the ones who kept with Cardy last October when even Stevie Wonder could see he was out of his depth. They have let this drag on to the point we are at today which you yourself stated has pretty much ruined the club.
They are incompetent. In fact it is starting to look like they just got luck with the appointment of VK because everything else since the end of 2020 has been a disaster. They have learnt nothing from their mistakes and we are now in a far worse position than the last relegation when at least we had some valuable assets to sell.
