Not saying he's my first choice by any stretch. But despite what the bookie say if he isn't appointed within the next week, it ain't gonna be him.

If it is to be believed that he has already had 4 meetings with the club, what would take so long? He is available? If he really wants it, or we really want him. It wouldn't make any sense for it to go on too long.

The longer it goes on, says to me that there is some doubt. On one side or the other. Don't think its as nailed on as some might be reporting.

It's a firm no from me. I'd like Craig Bellamy.

If we have ambition and a willingness to stick with someone and support them - Thomas frank is the correct choice for us.
Brentford similar sized club - found players of all nationalities and made them into a competitive outfit in the best league in the world - if they haven?t asked him we?re daft he for me would be the best choice for the job.

I can?t say I don?t like the idea of Bellamy but wales against England was men and boys and they / he didn?t change enough to stop the goals going in - in this league that could happen every week.

I don't think it matters who they decide on, they won't start in the job until the end of June at the earliest. We don't actually need a manager before then and this lot aren't going to pay someone thousands a week to sit on a beach.

Thomas Frank or Sean Dyche would be my top of my list.

Like Sinkov says, we aren't going to appoint someone before the season ends.

For all we know we might have offered someone the job and told him that his position won't be announced until June. It makes sense has neither he nor the club wouldn't want him to be associated with this seasons failure

What about Mike Jackson! Post Dyche he got some good results. Against Leeds it was still Parker’s set up. Against Villa we were a different team.

Does he not want the job? He seems to get something out of the players, who looked deadbeats under Parker.

I think that, had Parker been sacked earlier, Jackson might have kept us up.

I like him S.c. he's loyal, did not knock his sacked bosses for personal gain and he knows the squad inside out. Like sinkov alluded to, we could do a whole lot worse. We have Cork and Barnes available to mentor the younger players too.

For me it?s a bit too comfortable that appointment he?s been part of the existing regime of Parker ball - I?d like a new manager where the players think they have to perform to get in the team for a start.

For me it?s been run like Butlins and the red and yellow coats were everyone?s friends and definitely a bit too nice - we need a shake up and change around a d someone with drive and ambition

I doubt that Jackson could be described as lacking in drive and ambition.

On two occasions he has been freed from the yoke of Dycheball and Parkerball and the results have improved almost immediately. We could have beaten Villa had Fleming put away one of two good chances.

I echo BT?s comments on his loyalty etc. He is a known quantity and got something out of squads that he inherited.

Why take the risk with some ?name? who underperforms, wants a new back room staff and his own squad with all the turmoil and uncertainty that creates?

Give the job to Jacko, he's the safest option, he's worked for Dyche, Kompany and Parker and they were all happy with him. The nearest thing to a certainty in the Championship is Parker, but it's going to be ABP for us next season. Jacko is my man.

That is exactly my point BT he?s worked for all 3 and never had ambition to go and do something on his own - it?s not a knocking exercise by any means but if he?s had 3 goes and 3 lots of knowledge and experience why wouldn?t he apply elsewhere and get a real feel for the job entailed.

Thomas Frank is the best fit and holds everything we need for success if we back him and trust his knowledge - however what do I know ?

What will say is if they want a name - proven track record and he?s our man

Outside of that I think I?d like a European manager not a name we know.

No probs Army, and I take your point, it does indicate a certain lack of ambition, but it's a lack of ambition to further his own career. He appears to be happy being a No 2 at Burnley, does this disqualify him from being a successful No 1 ? I'm not sure, but I suspect Mr Pace may agree with you and prefer to look elsewhere.
