  • Shurandy Sambo off to the World Cup

He's in the Curacao World Cup squad.

Important info: The island is known over the world for its indigenous bitter orange-based liqueur, Cura?ao, flavoured with the dried peel of the laraha, a citrus fruit grown there.

Who says you learn nowt on here.

It's a smashing place to visit along with Aruba and Bonaire. Good luck to Sambo and his team, at least they have got there, whether you like the expanded set up or not.

I was there over Easter, on a TUI/Marella cruise. Lots of souvenir shops selling fake World Cup shirts, but you wouldn?t have known they qualified for the World Cup. The country has a definite Dutch influence. Tall buildings alongside the waterfront, just like the buildings in Amsterdam ,next to the canals. I?ll be interested to see what happens when they kick off their World Cup campaign

My grandson rang me last night to tell me to put on Clarets Mad that our full back Shandy Shurmambo was playing in the World Cup. I said, "thanks son".
