I think what Koeman is saying is that he wants a fecking great big lump to send on when all else has failed. Not surprised Zirkzee has missed out, right fecking donkey is that.

Probably Flemming's last chance saloon to play in a World Cup. I'm not sure he is a Gold Standard World Cup player but neither is Weghorst.

I wouldn't mind the pair of them starting for us next season, perfect combination, not going to happen though is it.

Weghorst thought he was way too good for us and I'll be sorry to see Flemming go.

Weghorst was playing for his country in both the World Cup Qualifiers and the European Championships when he arrived at Burnley.
When we were relegated, he was told by his manager that, unless he was playing top league football, he would not be considered for the National Team. Hence he left Burnley on loan and has since played 37 times for Holland and scored 12 goals, including 2 against Argentina in the World Cup match on 9 December 2022.

His decision to further his career by going out on loan from us was greeted by our loyal fans as a kick in the teeth and, consequently, even when he returned in August 2024 and came on as a sub for Lyle Foster he was booed by a large number of our loyal fans and left to go home to Holland.

Since he went out on loan he has played in 140 matches at the top level in various countries and scored 37 goals for his various clubs. In total, including the internationals, he has played in 177 games and scored 49 goals and was the obvious choice ahead of Zian Flemming who has excelled for us this season but has no international experience at all.

In that case, don't moan that he didn't want to play. I wouldn't want to play at a club where the fans are hostile towards me for no reason at all, particularly if my international career depended on it. A footballer with sense to look after himself ---very rare these days.

Behave mein freund, loyalty at football clubs went out the window a decade or so ago. Of course there are the odd exception but Weghorst is not one of them.

I've yet to be convinced we'll lose Flemming mon ami. Either way it must be win-win, we either keep a top Championship player or he goes to a PL club and we make a cracking profit on him.

Flemming won't be staying at Burnley, he will be snapped up by a Premier League club.

Anyone who scores 11 goals in a poor side from 28 stsrts in the EPL, won't be dropping to the championship. We should get around the 25 million mark for him

Need to look this up but I think Millwall have a sizeable chunk of any sale to go to them.

We'll see, for some reason a lot of people don't rate him highly, I'm not one of them, he looks PL quality to me. But earlier in the season there were posters saying he'd never make a PL striker while he had a hole in his in arse (OK, maybe not that last bit), he just missed too many chances, now Koeman won't have him in his WC squad. There are perhaps half a dozen PL clubs who might come in for him, be interesting to see how many actually do. They'd be foolish not to imo, but I'm not convinced many will.

AS happens with all strikers, you only miss chances if you are in a position to score them. Alan Shearer had a couple of seasons when the ball just wasn't going in for him but he just kept getting in positions to score and it all came right again.
Scoring goals whilst playing in a team who were not performing will always attract attention. Let's wait and see what happens because I think that finances will dictate matters.

Just me and you in sync with this Sub - I posted many times around what your saying but I was told like you he?s rubbish and can?t score and selfish arrogant etc etc.

When he came to us Dyche thought he was a target man I?m sure - he most definitely was t he was an intelligent footballer with a great work rate - clever brain and feet and a goal or two in him - once again he didn?t score a goal a game so he must be rubbish eh I mean any forward who can?t get a goal a game in the best league in the world at Burnley must be poor.

When I watched every Game he gave his all when he played which is acceptable to me anyhow

I also do-not blame him for trying to better himself

Maybe we?re wrong sub and playing internationally regularly a scoring goals at that level makes him poor

                              Who knows ?
