I would imagine Army, he recruits the man who is responsible for player recruitment. I'm thinking on the lines of someone who can point ALK and Alan in the right direction. Point out to them that whoever was responsible for player recruitment last season made a complete arse of it ands needs to go, if he hasn't been sacked already. Explain to them what's needed to run a Football club in England at this level, and oversee that it happens because I get the distinct impression they haven't got a clue what they're doing.

What clown suggested spending 20 million on Broja, who agreed it was a good idea, and who sanctioned the spending, was a season long loan with an option to buy not considered, this expensive pantomime would never have happened with an experienced DoF in charge. Who sanctioned the loan of Florentino with an obligation to buy instead of an option ? Why was the club allowed to drift rudderless for two months in 2024, before all the problems were dumped on Parker's desk at the last minute, the players returned to training on 30th June, Parker rocked up on 1st July. It will happen again this summer Parker has been gone 4 weeks and there's no sign of a new manager, it's significant that City had Pep's successor lined up and ready to walk in through the door the minute Pep walked out.

A Director of Football would not allow the club to be run in such a shambolic way, we need someone who knows how football works because our owners don't have a clue.

Happy to inform you mon ami that we are going to share Espanyol's newly appointed Director of Football. He says it makes perfect sense.

Typical of the way we operate, seems Mr Pace just bumped into him in a Spanish restaurant, and halfway through his paella it suddenly dawned on him how useful this guy could be.

Completely agree Sinkov but you forgot to mention that this is the second time they have made idiotic recruitment in preparation for the EPL.You can forgive them first time around but then not learning from it and then making an even bigger cock-up second time is the height of incompetence. The perfect example is JBL.He was nothing spectacular first time around in the PL so they then resign him for an even less successful season in the PL.

A bit like you with the cheese souffle if I recall correctly mon ami. I'm still fairly convinced that you were put in charge of recruitment from that moment on. Would explain a lot.

I doubt it BT because we would probably have had a better squad if Sinkov was Director Of Football.

I have just been asking my mate, Ken, the same thing because Ashington have appointed a Director of Football who just happens to be a previous manager. Delusions of grandeur, n'est ce pas?

Well Foster and Broja would certainly have been down the road in January, and no mistake.
