  • John Kear R.I.P.

Met this bloke at a Sports Dinner a few years ago in Keighley; Rugby league icon John Kear has passed away aged 71. The former coach had featured on the BBC's coverage of the Challenge Cup Finals on Saturday, but died suddenly on Sunday afternoon. You never know what's round the corner. Carpe Diem. R.I.P John.

Very sad to hear this news. He really did know the game so well and was always worth listening to in his summaries ----I keep the sound on for the RL and cricket because they know what they are talking about and don't rabbit on unnecessarily. A a coach he was never afraid to try new things and he is a legend in Sheffield for winning the Challenge Cup when they beat Wigan in 1998.
Always very passionate about the game, I shall certainly miss his input. R.I.P. John Kear and thanks for the memories.

Correct you never know what's round the corner

Helped an old couple on a ferry this afternoon with their 3 cases and bags and did the same when getting off at the other end to their awaiting taxi. He pushed a note in my hand saying it was from his wife, at 1st glance it just said thankyou, 3 hours later I opened the note up and he has offered me the use of his property for 1 week for free at his house on the Greek island of Symi

It also said one good turn deserves another

Totally agree. Smashing finish to the game with Wakefield getting the try to end a really good game.
