Two World Cups started tonight and I am happy to report that the Darts was a pleasure to watch either side of the superb match between Saint Helens and Warrington in the Super league.
I have been involved with football for 73 years and this extended World Cup, along with all its political involvement has no interest whatsoever.

I am so grateful that there is plenty of other sport available without having to watch the biggest farce that will be the FIFA World Cup.

For me reality is there is a pattern forming and has been for years - Muslims are committing many crimes that are let?s call them in humane on innocent people

Maybe they just picked the wrong place this time to go about their sick crime.

All races of people have bad eggs but let?s be honest this is way out of hand now.
Ian Huntley was not a Muslim I don't think army88 nor was Thomas Hamilton, as far as I know.

The organisers have forgotten the football mein freund, it's just a money making machine now.

Ian Huntly was from a different era and he was from the indigenous population, so I really can't see your point

Nobody voted for this infux of foreign aliens, it has been thrust upon us by Tory and Labour government's through the backdoor. I don't blame the loyalist mob for the Belfast riots I blame the Government, who have done nothing to seal our borders in the channel or through the ROI.
The indigenous population of the UK have had enough. If we want to save our country and British culture for our kids and Grandchildren we have been left with no option but to take matters into our own hands, as our government's can't be trusted.

As usual ballcock you are off target with your hatred. This dude was allowed to board a flight into Dublin from Paris using the Schengen scheme and from there he got UK government approved "sanctuary" in Belfast.

I blame the EU for this nonsense. I wonder how many non-whites the French gendarmes have loaded into rubber dinghies on the beaches of Flanders today?

Army88 mentioned sick people so I mentioned Huntley & Hamilton.

Huntley and Hamilton were certainly seriously sick MF's.

Hatred? WTF are you going on about now. Its not hatred to be concerned that these aliens are flooding our country raping and murdering our own people, while our government welcomes them with open arms giving them all the freebies under the sun at the expense of the indigenous population, it's called common sense.

Hatred, that the country is no longer able to defend its borders or support its military. British soldiers are having to buy their own kit to keep themselves alive because this bat sh!t crazy government haven't the resources in place to fund adequate kit, instead the money is going to benifit claimants, legal and illegal immigrants

It's phuck all to with France or the EU that we aren't able to defend our borders, its down to weak government and a government whose ideologies are for open borders. They believe that diversity is wonderful and that we can all live in harmony.

Like you BT this government is off with the fairies and like you hasn't an ounce of sense

We are living on the back of Tory austerity, Matt Hancock, Liz Truss and Boris Johnson's crazy cock-ups. Our current plight has got Sweet Pfhuck all to do with immigrants shipped in through the back door by the French, please stop scapegoating a coloured minority.

Have you seen the full England squad? They are a wonderful advert for diversity and illustrate that we can indeed all live in total harmony.

No World Cup chaos for me. I haven’t watched a single minute so far but I will tune in for the England matches. Hope they can find your stolen kit lads. I will also be watching the England games in the Women’s T20 World Cup. Which of our two teams stands a better chance of winning the Tournament do you think? The Starmer song seems to be going down well in the USA.

Coming from a dude who is prejudiced against or antagonistic towards a person or people on the basis of their skin colour really is a bit rich ballcock.

So, a horrific knife attack has occurred in Belfast, allegedly committed by a Sudanese man granted asylum in 2023 who had leave to remain until 2028. Initial thoughts belong with the victim and his family.
Lots of people carry knives in the UK and lots of people use them. Up until December of last year, police in England and Wales recorded 49,151 offences that included the possession of or use of a knife or a sharp instrument, this actually representing a 10% decrease on the previous year, of these 172 led to homicides and again this represents a 21% decrease on the previous year. 81% of the suspects for the homicides were white.
Black and other ethnic minorities are overrepresented in statistics for knife crime where the ethnicity of the attacker was recorded, we can only muse as to why the ethnicity of attackers is recorded in some instances and not others. We can also note that ethnic minorities are 3.7 times more likely to be stopped and searched than whites in the UK, which will clearly feed into knife crime statistics. Ethnic minorities are also heavily over-represented as victims of knife crime.
There are is a simplistic narrative being pushed hard by tech billionaires like Elon Musk, careerist grifters like Nigel Farage and b-list ‘celebrity’ hate stirrers like Tommy Robinson that goes like this: the UK is being ‘invaded’ by an army of vaguely defined ‘Islamist’ bad guys who (in an unlikely alliance with the police) want to take over the country, declare Sharia Law and roam the streets randomly killing white people with machetes. As with all narratives pushed by people with serious money and those chasing their serious money, it behoves us to stop and ponder who benefits from the promulgation of such myths.
UK citizens have a legitimate series of concerns, they work hard but find much of their wages feeding the profits of banks and rentiers in the form of sky high mortgage and rent payments, many young people basically having no chance at all of ever owning their own home except via inheritance. Despite both being in work many parents find it hard to feed their family, food bank usage has exploded, personal debt (excluding mortgages) is at record levels, public services are crumbling, public infrastructure is falling apart, high streets are collapsing into economic ruin, the NHS is struggling under the poison of a gathering privatisation, zero-hours contracts and precarious gig-economy jobs have become normal. Many people have quite reasonably given up on the mainstream political parties like the Tories and Labour because they have been sold out and let down by them time and again.
The super-rich call the UK ‘treasure island’ for a reason, in rip-off Britain who is being ripped off by who? Well in 1990, the UK had 15 billionaires now we have 157 with their cumulative wealth growing to ?784 billion. The wealth of the UK's top billionaires now equates to more than a fifth of the country's entire GDP. You can find the same story on steroids in the U.S. and in many other nations around the world.
You might think that the billionaire owning classes have it made (and indeed they do) but they have a problem, how to justify their ever burgeoning wealth (that comes at the savage expense of everyone else) and how to protect their capacity to squeeze ever more wealth out of the nations they drain via the parasitism of late-stage vulture capitalism. The solution is a simple twist on capitalist realism, they assert via the media assets that they own and control, that capitalism can’t possibly be to blame for the steady transfer of wealth to the 0.1% and the concomitant collapse of public services / infrastructure - nah - the real problem lies not with the rapacious greed of the super-rich but with immigrants.
Reminiscent of Hitler’s 1932 anti-Juden garbage – anyone? Masked men, egged on by fascist sympathisers, went looking for ethnic minorities to burn out of their homes, with no thought for the life inside. It was, as Claire Hanna, the Belfast SDLP MP, called it: “A race-based pogrom” straight out of the 1930s fascist playbook. Terror being turned on anyone with a different colour skin from the men of violence.
Now we can see who benefits from the simplistic hate narratives pumped out by the owning classes about the ‘invasion’ of the UK by immigrants - the billionaire class who own much of the media and who bank roll the likes of Farage and Tommy Robinson.
UK citizens seen by the elites as just so many units of production and consumption in a globalised Ponzi scheme, also have legitimate concerns about a collapse of truth, meaning and a loss of personal and collective identity in a footloose world where labour has become a transnational fungible commodity. Are asylum seekers and immigrants responsible for this? No. Is it easy to blame them for the indignities inflicted on a globalised labour force by multi-national corporations? Yes. Who benefits from the direct encouragement of race hatred against an easy scapegoat? Billionaires.
A knife attack by Sudanese asylum seeker is exactly what the likes of Tommy Robinson, Farage and lesser far-right pond life further down the food chain toss themselves off about under the sheets at night, it is the perfect victim **** for them in answer to their unholy prayers. They don’t give a damn about the victims of any knife crime or the working class in the UK - all they gleefully see is an opportunity to gather celebrity, power and thus the sponsorship of the super-rich.
As for the masked gangs who set fire to buses, attack the police and firebomb people’s houses etc - well I grew up with these people, they are not political actors, they are just bored, lack a positive self-image or coherent identity and basically crave the attention and notoriety that comes from their self-styled ‘defence of the nation’. Such people are ‘brave’ in large numbers when attacking terrified immigrant families in their homes, but would run a mile from a real war, the army or a fair fight. The owned media lap it all up of course and burning buses make for great telly.
We should take the underlying concerns of people in the UK seriously because they are legitimate. We should take the racist ****-stirring by the super-rich and their stooges seriously because it is dangerous and profoundly dishonest. We should confront the scapegoating of immigrants head on with calm reasoned debate.
Those who use tragic events as an excuse to indulge in acts of violence and arson against innocent families and their property should be arrested, tried and imprisoned - I doubt many of them will be, because they are serving as useful idiots for some very powerful people, which sort of dispels the notion of two-tier policing that Farage and his ilk promulgate.
