What's the point of the UN? No-one listens.

Yeah right! From 2011 to 2017, the official position of Israel has been that of strict neutrality. However, due to the Iranian intervention in the conflict, which began in 2013, it has become involved both politically and militarily in attempts to prevent the growing influence and entrenchment of Iranian troops and proxies throughout Syria.
Israeli military activity in Syria has primarily been limited to aerial and missile strikes targeting facilities used by Iran and its proxy forces, especially Hezbollah, which entered Syria from Lebanon shortly after the outbreak of the conflict.

What's the point of the UN? No-one listens.

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation founded in 1969 has 57 members, 56 of which are also member states of the United Nations, with 48 countries being Muslim majority countries. I am sure those countries all listen to a proposal of a 'Muslim majority country, and agree, right!'

28 UN member states do not recognize Israel: 15 members of the Arab League (Algeria, Comoros, Djibouti, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Syria, Tunisia, and Yemen); ten non-Arab members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Brunei, Indonesia,)

But it is called 'the United Nations'.

The point of the UNited Nations is to ensure that the delegates get paid ?100,000+ per annum plus Dependency allowances for eligible children and spouses: Travel and shipping expenses for moving to a new duty station: Hardship allowances for working in certain locations:
Hazard pay for stressful and hazardous locations: 18–30 days of vacation time per year.
What do they do? They pontificate and criticise and send soldiers from various nations into dangerous situations, however, the soldiers do not get any of the benefits mentioned above.
Even the student employment rates in the UN are ?35,000+ per annum.

Guess who are the largest contributors to the UN ----- the USA are top followed by the UK. Another organisation for which we get real value for money as shown by Balan in his post above

Come on BT, I have rumbled you. I reckon that you are an agent for all these media outlets, such as the Grauniad, mondoweiss, Commondreams et al because every one of them are asking for donations from those gullible enough to believe that they will make a difference to anything in the world.
