It appears that Trump wants to obtain mining rights in several countries so as to curry favour with his billionaire backers who will operate those mining companies. Trump is like a spoilt child if he does not get his own way he tend to throw a wobbler.

Reading from a very well balanced Spanish media source this morning that Trump has emboldened the EU countries to organise a seismic defence change in strategy. Billions to be spent on defence and no money’s going across the Atlantic. Apparently Team GB can join the party but need to cut ties with the US. I can’t see Starmer and Bonnie King Charlie doing that. Somewhat incredulously I see Starmer giving an envelope to Trump with a written invitation to hit London for another State visit. I love the story coming out of Australia, the Chinese Navy decided to conduct a live firing exercise off the coast of Australia, the first anyone knew about it was when a Virgin pilot picked up a warning radio msg from the Chinese, he told Australian ATC who told the Australian military, ships and planes were then diverted away from the area. I know there's a lot of sea around Australia but you'd think they'd know about Chinese warships, it seems not.Comment

Putin has already TWICE pulled off land grabs in Ukraine. He miscalculated badly when going for the whole country in 2022 thinking the Red Army would just stroll into Kyiv.The USA helped stop him then.
