Which confirms my philosophy about not worrying about things which may or may not happen ---just deal with things IF they do happen. There is definitely no need to stress over anything in life, just live it to the full and deal with whatever it throws at you whenever, or if, it happens.Originally posted by outwoodclaret View PostI think I have deal with the tip of the iceberg there. What lies under the surface will probably sink HMS Great Britain when we hit it. Unless the berg melts first of course in which case we?ll probably all drown. Still mustn?t grumble.

I have recently embraced your philosophy mein freund. 4 x foreign holidays with flights already booked and one in the UK with the grandkids all before the New Year kicks off.Originally posted by Supersub6 View PostWhich confirms my philosophy about not worrying about things which may or may not happen ---just deal with things IF they do happen. Mexican President CLAUDIA SHEINBAUM writes to Trump and Musk on behalf of the rest of the WORLD:
So you voted to build the wall.... Well, my fellow Americans, even if you don't understand much about geography, because to you America is your country and not a continent, it's important that you know what you're leaving on that wall before you lay the first bricks.
There are 7 billion people out there; but since this thing with people doesn't mean much to you, we will call them consumers.
There are 7 billion consumers who want to exchange an iPhone for Samsung or Huawei, in less than 42 hours. They can also replace Levi's Zara or Massimo Duti.
Quietly, in less than six months, we can stop buying Ford or Chevrolet vehicles and replace them with Toyota, KIA, Mazda, Honda, Hyundai, Volvo, Subaru, Renault or BMW, which technically outperform the cars you manufacture.
That 7 billion can also stop subscribing to Direct TV and we wouldn't like to, but we can stop watching Hollywood movies and start watching more Latin American or European productions that have quality, news, film techniques, and excellent content.
Although it seems unbelievable to you, we can stop visiting Disney parks and go to Xcaret Park in Canc?n, Mexico, Canada or Europe: there are other great places in South America, the East and Europe.
And believe it or not even in Mexico there are better burgers than McDonald's and have better nutrients.
Has anyone seen pyramids in the US? In Egypt, Mexico, Peru, Guatemala, Sudan and other countries there are pyramids that testify to amazing cultures.
Do you know where are the wonders of the ancient and modern world...
None of them are in the U.S... What an embarrassment for Trump, well he would buy it and sell it!
We know that Adidas exists and not just Nike but we can start using Mexican tennis like Panama.
We know much more than you think, we know, for example, if those 7 billion consumers don’t buy your products, there will be unemployment, and your economy (within the racist wall) will collapse to the point where you ask us to come down that terrible wall.
We didn't want anything though.. You wanted a wall, you'll get a wall.
Yours sincerely,
KLAUDIA SHEINBAUM
PRESIDENT OF MEXICO

What's the latest definition of 'poverty' ? Can't afford a mobile, Netflix, tatts, or a holiday in Magaluf ?Originally posted by The Bedlington Terrier View PostI recall Starmer saying that "those who have the broadest shoulders will carry the heaviest burden". Yeah right.

Besides 20% VAT, US cars have to pay import duties of 10%, UK and EU cars imported into the USA pay 2.5% import duties. The various sales taxes and state taxes in the US apply to all cars, not just imported ones. Like I said, Trump is just levelling the playing field.Originally posted by The Bedlington Terrier View PostYou obviously don't understand Sales Tax, State Tax and Federal Taxes mon ami. For every thousand dollars I earned in the US 40% disappeared in a litany of taxes. Under immediate threat here is the Aston Martin range of products but car manufactures have a long history of hitting the dirt. They are already running at a loss and the Sun Bed God might have just finished them off.
What I liked yesterday in the Telegraph was the piece just under the one moaning about the damage Trump's tariff will do to our car industry. This one was one pointing out that the 15 thousand pound per car fine for not meeting the ZEV mandate requirement was wrecking our car industry. We don't need Trump tariffs to damage our car industry, it's being wrecked by our vary own eco-loons in government.

The only UK car manufacturer under threat from the Sun Bed King is Aston Martin. Oh yes, lots like that in this area. My neighbour, an ex-miner and engineer has recently turned 70 years old and is always busy doing something. He volunteered to help the local foodbank by delivering food parcels to various recipients. His son, who works in the local hospital told him that he wouldn't last long doing that.Originally posted by The Bedlington Terrier View PostWhen you have to visit a Food Bank to feed your kids.
He started one Monday and I was talking to him on the Wednesday and asked him about the job. He told me that he packed it in after two days because he was going to houses, knocking on doors and people were poking their heads out of the bedroom windows and telling him to leave the parcels/boxes on the table. He was fed up of going into houses with 60 inch televisions on the wall, lots of games consoles lying around etc., etc. In fact, he said that these recipients were better off than he was or ever had been.
Some genuine cases, however, many others taking the mickey.

Go to Bolton's only food bank mein freund and you will see the reality of real poverty.Originally posted by Supersub6 View PostOh yes, lots like that in this area. I have told this story before I think. One of my wife's oldest friends issued an ultimatum to her husband of more than 50 years. "Stop going to the food bank or we are getting divorced." He complained that other well off people went so why shouldn't he?
Here in Bolton you have to prove you are on benefits and then some.
Greed is a horrible affliction. Just ask the Sun Bed King.

And on it goes…
A police raid on a Quaker meeting house to arrest six women attending a protest meeting has been criticised as "ridiculously heavy-handed".
The women were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to cause a public nuisance, according to the Metropolitan Police, after attending an introductory meeting to Youth Demand.
Youth Demand, a protest group publicly planning to "shut down London" in April with a series of protests over the government's position on climate change and Gaza, had hired a room in the Westminster Quaker meeting house. It claimed as many as 30 officers took part in the raid.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-ne...gaza-doorstep/Originally posted by The Bedlington Terrier View PostWoke up this morning (Thank You God) to read the latest news on Ratbag Reeves in Downing Street and the Sun Bed King in the White House. It might be best to just go back to bed.
Lucky you, you woke up, you could go back to bed, this poor lad won't be waking up again, thanks to your mates, the terrorist scum. When I talk about 'these people', it's the sort of people who support murderous scum like this I'm talking about, people with no moral compass whatsoever.
"Hamas torture protester to death and leave body on family?s doorstep. Terrorist group kidnaps Oday Al Rabbay shortly after he took part in protest against the war"
"Oday Al Rabbay was kidnapped shortly after participating in the protest and returned to his family?s home dead and bloody days later.
"Mazen Shat, a senior police officer affiliated with Fatah from Ramallah and a vocal critic of Hamas, said: ?Uday was martyred by the criminals of Hamas. ?And what?s his crime? He told the truth, because he refused to be silent on injustice, because he did not kneel to Hamas,? he told The Telegraph. He said that Hamas tortured the young man for four hours straight. Images showed open wounds and bruising that left the man?s body swollen and bloody. ?Hamas is oppressing people in a brutal way,? Mr Shat said. ?Like a puppy on a rope around his neck, they dragged him to the door of his house and told his family that this is the punishment for those who complain about Hamas.?
And you support this, there is something seriously wrong with you mon ami. Incidentally, while the Telegraph reports on the scum's latest atrocity, there is no mention of it on either the BBC or Grauniad website. not surprising, doesn't fit the lefty narrative does it, so just ignore it eh.
