They planned to shut down London ? No wonder the police were interested, good to see them doing their job for once. I wonder who dobbed them in to the Old Bill, you can't trust the Loony Left or religious fanatics can you.Originally posted by The Bedlington Terrier View PostAnd on it goes?
A police raid on a Quaker meeting house to arrest six women attending a protest meeting has been criticised as "ridiculously heavy-handed".
The women were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to cause a public nuisance, according to the Metropolitan Police, after attending an introductory meeting to Youth Demand.
Youth Demand, a protest group publicly planning to "shut down London" in April with a series of protests over the government's position on climate change and Gaza, had hired a room in the Westminster Quaker meeting house. It claimed as many as 30 officers took part in the raid.

It's April Fools Day, there's always a 'joke' story in the media, I've just looked at a few outlets and there is so much lunacy being reported on I can't identify one. My favourite is the one about the BBC expanding their 'fact checker' unit, because the nation depends on them for the truth, but that could easily be true.

I'm more concerned about the news that Bertie Bee has announced his retirement at the end of the season.Originally posted by sinkov View PostIt's April Fools Day, there's always a 'joke' story in the media, I've just looked at a few outlets and there is so much lunacy being reported on I can't identify one. Birds of a feather flock together.
JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu begins a four-day visit to Hungary on Thursday, defying an International Criminal Court arrest warrant over allegations of war crimes in Gaza as Israel has expanded its military operation in the enclave.
As a founding member of the ICC, Hungary is theoretically obliged to arrest and hand over anyone subject to a warrant from the court but Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban made clear when he issued the invitation that Hungary would not respect the ruling.
Netanyahu, who is battling a political storm at home over an investigation into suspected ties between Qatar and three of his aides, is due to meet Orban ahead of a press conference at around 1000 GMT.
Netanyahu has rejected the accusations regarding his aides as "fake news". A Qatari official has dismissed the accusations as part of a "smear campaign" against Qatar.
Is there any news that is not immediately denounced as "Fake News?"

I tend to read a better source of news myself...Originally posted by sinkov View PostIt's April Fools Day, there's always a 'joke' story in the media, I've just looked at a few outlets and there is so much lunacy being reported on I can't identify one. Can't read it mon ami, it appears to be behind a paywall. From the first sentence which is visible it seems to be about Israel seizing land in Gaza, if it's just going to say Israel won't be giving that land back, then I've mentioned this already. As Bibi says, 'From the border to the sea, Gaza belongs to me".Originally posted by The Bedlington Terrier View PostI tend to read a better source of news myself...

That will be interesting mon ami, my source is not a journalist, as far as I'm aware he doesn't write anything. If he does I've not seen any of it.Originally posted by The Bedlington Terrier View PostWithin the next 48 hours (I'm busy today) I will post some of the tosh and guffaw your man writes from Jerusalem.

Trump and tariffs, Trump and tariffs, Go together like horse**** and sheriffs. Imposing tariffs is of course not a new idea by any means even by those who supported free trade. Two hundred years ago George Canning Foreign Secretary sent the following message to the English Ambassador in The Hague. “In matters of commerce the fault of the Dutch Is offering too little and asking too much. The French are with equal advantage content, So we clap on Dutch bottoms just twenty per cent”. Canning was not hellbent on starting a global trade war. Trump is and he and his mega-rich cronies will not be the ones to suffer by it. Everyone else will. Frankly Trump needs Canning.

And forget the 2.5 million people whose ancestors lived in Palestine 2000 years ago eh mon ami? I wonder how Trump will rub the Eskimos noses in the brown stuff. For Trump and Netanyahu read Hitler & Stalin.Originally posted by sinkov View PostCan't read it mon ami, it appears to be behind a paywall.
