  • Dearborn US attorney Amir Makled was prevented from entering the US on a US Passport. "This current administration is doing something that no administration has done — they are attacking attorneys," Makled said. "This is a different type of threat to the rule of law that I see. They are now challenging the judiciary, or lawyers, they're putting pressure (on them) to dissuade attorneys from taking on issues that are against the government's issues. We have an obligation as lawyers to stand up to this stuff."

Customs and Border Protection Assistant Commissioner Hilton Beckham defended the agents' actions in a statement to the Free Press. He would.

Oh dear, Lefties have such short memories, here is our 'fascist' Home Secretary refusing entry into the UK to a Dutch politician.

      https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...h-mp-ban-islam

Geert Wilders, the rightwing Dutch politician accused of Islamophobia, was today refused entry to the UK after arriving at Heathrow airport in London. Wilders was due to show his 17-minute film Fitna, which criticises the Qur'an as a "fascist book", at the House of Lords today. But on Tuesday he received a letter from the Home Office refusing him entry because his opinions "threaten community harmony and therefore public safety". He arrived at Heathrow shortly after 2pm and was questioned by immigration officials. On the plane from Amsterdam, the controversial leader of the Freedom party told Dutch journalists he had travelled to Britain in December without any fuss. "I don't see why there's a problem with me this time," he said. "I don't understand why they allowed me to come before and not now."

Asked whether he had a message for the UK government, he said: "I would say to them, 'Even if you don't like me and don't like the things I say then you should let me in for freedom of speech. If you don't, you are looking like fascists.'"

It is never unusual to find the words, 'Labour', 'Lefty' and 'Hypocrisy' in the same sentence.

Trump Tariffs 'Shattering Confidence' in the US.
Alan Blinder, Princeton University economics and public affairs professor, says stagflation is the default outlook for the US right now and the Trump administration's tariffs are "shattering confidence in the American economy". The Sun Bed King is an eejit.
An 'economics professor' no less mon ami. Impressive. Many years ago I stopped listening to horse racing tipsters, if they knew which horses were going to win, they wouldn't be selling tips or writing newspapers columns, they'd be sunning themselves on private beaches in the Cayman Islands. Same with economists, if they could predict accurately what would happen to an economy or whether a stock would rise or fall, they'd be on that Cayman Islands beach with the tipsters. But they're not are they, they spend their time slaving away, writing books, newspaper columns or forecasts for the likes of the OBR, which are inevitably proved wrong within days.

They know no more than you, me, and the racehorse tipsters mon ami, they can safely be ignored.

        • Does the Sun Bed King have any idea of what he is doing..?

"President Trump’s 25 percent tariffs on imported vehicles, which went into effect last week, are already sending tremors through the auto industry, prompting companies to stop shipping cars to the United States, shut down factories in Canada and Mexico and lay off workers in Michigan and other states.

Jaguar Land Rover, based in Britain, said it would temporarily stop exporting its luxury cars to the United States. Stellantis idled factories in Canada and Mexico that make Chrysler and Jeep vehicles and laid off 900 U.S. workers who supplied those factories with engines and other parts.

Audi, the luxury division of Volkswagen, also paused exports of cars to the United States from Europe, telling dealers to sell whatever they still had on their lots.

If other carmakers make similar moves, the economic impact could be severe, leading to higher car prices and widespread layoffs. The tariffs on cars are among the first of several industry-specific levies that Mr. Trump has in his sights and could offer early clues about how businesses will respond to his trade policies, including whether they raise prices or increase manufacturing in the United States. The president has said he also wants to tax the imports of medicines and computer chips."

I try to stick to footie posts but keep getting drawn in so now I occasionally bait BT as ii's a footie forum and i enjoy the banter but i know whatever I say this thread will endure because BT will ensure it and sinky will stoke the fire. So be it.

I'm intrigued Chris, I'd love to read better informed reports, but I can't find any, could you point me in the right direction.

                  • This is the guy who is attempting to wreck the global economy..."Donald Trump declared a “war on showers” on Wednesday, 9 April, signing an executive order to lift restrictions on water pressure in showers saying he wanted to "take care of my beautiful hair."

His move came as a global trade war was further inflamed when the US president abruptly backed down on much of his tariff plan, announcing a 90-day pause for dozens of countries."

As an apolitical animal observing your banter I have to say that it is good for a laugh ---even if the political content is deadly serious.
Whatever we may think or do ---it makes not one blind bit of difference to what 'they' do. Keep it up chaps. Amused in Ashington.

                            • The Sun Bed King seen for what he is..."We're getting a compelling illustration on the national stage of how a cult leader can induce his followers to stick by him, even as he loses his mind and his behaviour becomes too erratic and dangerous to defend. Almost every Republican on Capitol Hill knows that Donald Trump's tariff plan is political suicide, but few are willing to admit that Dear Leader fully intends to see this idiocy to the very end."

                              • A report from journalist Jonathan Cook
"The difficulty for Israel with the discovery of a mass grave in Gaza in which it had buried 15 emergency workers was that it could not easily fall back on any of the usual mendacious rationalisations for war crimes it has fed the western media over the past year and a half – and which those outlets have been only too happy to regurgitate.
Israel has destroyed Gaza’s hospitals, shot up large numbers of ambulances, killed hundreds of medical personnel and disappeared others into torture chambers, while denying the entry of medical supplies.
Israel implies that all of the 36 hospitals in Gaza it has targeted are Hamas-run “command and control centres”; that many of the doctors and nurses working in them are really covert Hamas operatives; and that Gaza’s ambulances are being used to transport Hamas fighters.
Even if these claims were vaguely plausible, the western media seems unwilling to ask the most obvious of questions: why would Hamas continue to use Gaza’s hospitals and ambulances, when Israel made clear from the outset of its 18-month genocidal killing rampage that it was going to treat them as targets?
Even if Hamas fighters did not care about protecting the health sector, which their parents, siblings, children and relatives desperately need to survive Israel’s carpet bombing, why would they make themselves so easy to locate?
Hamas has plenty of other places to hide in Gaza. Most of the enclave’s buildings are wrecked concrete structures, ideal for waging guerrilla warfare.
Even the usual excuses, as preposterous as they are, simply won’t wash in the case of Israel’s latest atrocity – which is why it initially tried to black out the story.
Given that it has banned all western journalists from entering Gaza, killed unprecedented numbers of local journalists, and formally outlawed the UN refugee agency Unrwa, it might have hoped its crime would go undiscovered.
But as news of the atrocity started to appear on social media last week, and the mass grave was unearthed on Sunday, Israel was forced to concoct a cover story.
It claimed the convoy of five ambulances, a fire engine and a UN vehicle were “advancing suspiciously” towards Israeli soldiers. It also insinuated, without a shred of evidence, that the vehicles had been harbouring Hamas and Islamic Jihad fighters.
Once again, we were supposed to accept not only an improbable Israeli claim, but an entirely nonsensical one. Why would Hamas fighters choose to become sitting ducks by hiding in the diminishing number of emergency vehicles still operating in Gaza?
Why would they approach an Israeli military position out in the open, where they were easy prey, rather than fighting their enemy from the shadows, like other guerrilla armies – using Gaza’s extensive concrete ruins and their underground tunnels as cover?
If the ambulance crews were killed in the middle of a firefight, why were some victims exhumed with their hands tied? How is it possible that they were all killed in a gun battle when the soldiers could be heard calling for the survivors to be zip-tied?
And if Israel was really the wronged party, why did it seek to hide the bodies and the crushed vehicles under sand?"

Genocide in action and Perma Tan invites Netanyahu to the White House and failed to arrest him. The US are complicit in genocide and need to be called out by the UN.
