The Pallys and their apartheid state.

"Archbishop Justin Welby worries about Christians in the Holy Land, but seems mainly concerned with those in Israel. No doubt they face problems, but these are tiny compared with what they would endure if they lived under the Palestinian Authority (PA).

Some years ago I visited Christian Arabs living in and near Bethlehem. There, for public relations reasons, the PA gives the impression of tolerance towards Christianity, which was established in the region long before Islam.

It is misleading. Christians are powerless and without protection. One young man, lamenting the refusal of Muslim-dominated courts to help in a property dispute, burst out: 'We are so alone! All of us Christians feel so lonely in this country.'

I was told, in whispers, of the unprintable desecration of the Church of the Nativity by Palestinian gunmen in 2002.

Now Christians are emigrating, and towns that have been Christian for more than 1,000 years are becoming Muslim.

The Archbishop should both pray and act for this unhappy, forgotten and unfashionable minority."

Ze’evi echoed Alon’s sentiments, insisting that she was refusing to serve due to her love for the land and its people.

“We will only get out of this cycle of fear and violence when we open our hearts and minds, look at what is happening around us, and allow ourselves to feel the pain suffered by the people who live in this land,” said Ze’evi. “Once we all understand and accept this reality, I want to believe empathy, tolerance and compromise will be our only choice.”

Tamar Alon is a second-generation conscientious objector. Her father Chen Alon famously refused to serve as a reserve officer during the Second Intifada and then founded “Combatants for Peace,” a bi-national peace movement that connects Israeli and Palestinian activists.

I would say two girls from part of our 'left wing ' Yes, 'the Peace Now Movement'.
I would say they do not see reality, the Palestinians pay to kill Jews. Kill a Jew ,your family gets an award, you go to jail What do you think some will do ? In several years these are the first I know about the young refusing ,of course some will object.
A ONE STATE SOLUTION is the only possible way to get you lot moving forward towards peace Balan.

Opening the gates to the world's largest open air concentration camp might help too.

Thanks again to Balan for highlighting some of the realities of Israel - not the anti-Semitic media and the desire to paint Israel as the aggressor.

Yes I am “goy”. However, I have felt very welcome and respected in Israel and have seen no evidence of “apartheid”.

The IDF does not conscript Arab citizens of Israel who are Muslim or Christian, however, increasing numbers choose to volunteer for military service. Many Bedouins enlist on a voluntary basis. For Druze and Circassian men, enlistment is mandatory.

Female draftees who state that they maintain a religious Jewish way of life are exempt from military service, and many of them choose to volunteer for an alternative national service called Sherut Leumi.

Male members of the Religious Zionist sector often serve within a separate system called Hesder which combines advanced Talmudic studies with military service in the Israel Defense Forces. They normally serve for a year and five months instead of three years.

Draftees who state that they are pacifists are required to appear before a committee tasked with examining the credibility of their claim. Exemption from service is granted if the committee is persuaded that their pacifism is sincere and meets the agreed criteria. Only a few individuals each year are granted an exemption on grounds of pacifism; all other self-declared pacifists are required to enlist.

The IDF has reportedly concluded that it will, at some point in the future, have to end conscription in favor of an all-volunteer force.

"The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is a toothless, humourless, some would say useless non-departmental public body operating in England and Wales, established by the Equality Act 2006 with effect from 1 October 2007."

Another costly, useless thing established by a Labour Government and just look how it has made huge improvements to life in the UK.

I only posted about a Jewish lady being abused on Twitter 4 days ago, and already BT it's inspired 23 posts from you, all of them either derogatory about Rachel Riley/Jews/Israel or defending anti-Semitic politicians.

You say you are not anti-Semitic and you are an honourable man,
so are they all, all Labour politicians who say they are not anti-Semitic, all honourable men.
When that the Jews have cried, Corbyn hath wept.

And yet that duck analogy keeps coming to mind, you know the one, if it looks like a duck etc.

I speak not to disprove what Corbyn spoke,
But here I am to speak what I do know.

And I do know the sound of a quacking duck when I hear it.
