I will probably watch Man Utd at Grimsby this evening (on ITV & Sky Sports). See if it gives any clues to their lineup on Saturday.

Well Bt, you should do well this year because you will be watching Premier League football and that is like watching paint dry with sideways and backward passing and the ball hardly being in play a la Newcastle v Liverpool game. Never mind, it isn't expensive these days. Enjoy.Originally posted by The Bedlington Terrier View PostMe and my mate sinkov would rather watch paint dry.

It shouldn’t really have gone to penalties. Grimsby had a goal disallowed for offside that would have made it 3-0 but Maguire had taken a deliberate touch that played the attacker onside. Again Manchester United get the critical decisions in their favour whether VAR or no VAR. Same this Saturday?Originally posted by alfinyalcabo View PostWell done Grimsby Town. Won 12- 11 on penalties against the Scum.

Correctly disallowed for offside and with no VAR interference. He was offside when the ball was originally played, proper Laws of football used as per Bill Shankly's observations.Originally posted by outwoodclaret View PostIt shouldn’t really have gone to penalties. Had VAR been present I regret to say that Grimsby's second goal, when Onana made an abomination trying to punch the ball, would have been disallowed for handball by a Grimsby player which would have been very subjective ------but we know how VAR works for the 'glamour clubs'
INterestingly, the referees' forum which I use was very divided about the offside decision and a lot of these are still active in the upper levels of the game! What chance does a fan have? Indeed, what chance does any official have these days? They have messes about with TLOG so much that everyone is confused.
