Copied and pasted from an American who posted this on my Facebook page:
"What will it take to get through to the Republican congress, both House and Senate the American people demand that you ban assault weapons and high capacity magazines. The idea of shooting Prairie Dogs with an AR-15 and 30-round clip is stupid. Prairie Dogs and other varmints are small animals and could easily be killed with a .22 LR round. The AR-15/M-16 platform was designed for one thing only KILL THE ENEMY. This weapon was not designed for home defense or varmint hunting.
The Second Amendment was ratified back on December 15, 1791, the time of Muskets and Long rifles. A time when the country was new and wild. A time of the Minute Men, The Continental Army, the wilderness where a man had to hunt to feed his family and to protect them from every wild animal and yes Indians whose territory they were moving into in record numbers. Now, these weapons of war are being sold to the general public by a greedy weapons industry that is not content with selling weapons to the Military but oversaturating the nation with these weapons of mass killing. I Like to target shoot as much as the next man and I loved cowboy action shooting. Other shooting sports have their place BUT shooting enthusiasts are very safety oriented. Back when I was a kid the NRA and even schools had safety classes for shooting. Now anyone can buy a weapon with NO instruction on safety and no knowledge of what these weapons are capable of. We need to ban these weapons like they used to be, tighten up the regulation of firearms and Institute a buyback program to get these weapons of mass destruction out of the hands of people that should not have them."
Not much to add is there?
