  • Don't you just hate this league?

The big clubs are ensuring that the promoted 3 go back down again. They are simply asset stripping all the best players from the promoted clubs to ensure their own survival at our expense. Trafford, Esteve, Brownhill, CJ; who else?? I hate this league already before a ball has been kicked! At this rate none of them will ever face relegation; it's a great business strategy to keep that 100 million flowing each year into your coffers. The rules should ban established Premier league clubs buying or signing any promoted club players for at least a year, but that will never happen. The farce has to continue.

I agree completely Dave.It is a farce that is becoming more farcical every year.I also watched a couple of games after we were promoted and the VAR, player tantrums, handbags and falling over theatrics if you breath on somebody is even more annoying-long live the Championship.

It?s a pain Dave agreed but it?s just like any other business really - your best men get poached eventually by the promise of more money and benefits and generally leave.

Reality is you need your owners to have very deep pockets to ride out the offers from the elite ( so called ) clubs and keep and add to your squad to be competitive- truth be told we don?t know if even the loan to buys we have signed will be good enough to compete at this level and that?s 44 millions worth.

Edwards - unknown at Premiership ( looks small to me for this league )
Anthony - has played at this level but in and out of squad and couldn?t quite nail it down to be able to stay at this level.
Humphrey?s - academy graduate with talent yes but this is the big boys league- unknown
Fleming - the best chance of succeeding imo big strong boy who can hold his own and be competitive
( unsure if he has the pace - also where will Parker play him - he?s more effective arriving later on to balls and not as a target man ) still my favourite to succeed.

We need imo some bigger more physical lads who are competent footballers but physically bigger specimens- there only seems to be me and ballcock who highlight this - we are lightweight and too small in the main

Our relatively low gates (by EPL standards), the debt ALK incurred with the leveraged Garlick buy-out, the predatory nature of clubs like City, Bayern and Real Madrid mean that clubs lower down in the food chain like us are vulnerable to big money deals. Bayern even nicked our manager.

I think Parker already has an impossible task, Esteve is wanted by Palace, Everton and now Bayern are also now showing serious interest, we will be lucky to hold on to Trafford, Egan Riley gone, Brownhill likely to follow, the Championship beckons once again unless some UAE or Qatari oil field owner wants a new toy. Shame innit?

It's friggin' hard work to get out of it though Alfie, even though we seem to manage to do it easily enough.

For me it all goes back to Chris wood, Newcastle bought him not because they wanted him but to deprive us of him in the relegation run in, ditto with Pope but they wanted him. Money is controlling the EPL as if we didn't know this. Whoever comes up needs a bottomless pit of funds to compete.

The penalty for winning promotion from the Championship is that you find yourself in the corrupt money pit of the EPL. The penalty for not winning promotion at clubs that believe they should be in the EPL is the sack. Michael Carrick becomes the latest victim.

is like latest casualty Michael Carrick to get

It wont last because they are constructing the narrative that all three teams that are promoted go straight back down so why bother-might as well have the super league as the money men want.No doubt they will wait until they have the preferred three clubs such as Weeds,Sunderland-you know the ?big clubs? in-in fact if Sheffield had gone up instead of us they might have tried this coming season.
The PL is a big club league and we dont fit in.

The method is for EPL vultures to descend on a club and rip it to pieces. This season it is Brentford. After Spurs prised Thomas Frank away from the Gtech Arsenal have taken Bees captain Christian Norgaard and Manchester United have bought Bryan Mbeumo. The Toon are circling over Yoane Wissa. Brentford now have a relatively inexperienced manager Keith Andrews and their recruitment was kicked off with Jordan Henderson. You sense a club in real trouble.

It has always been the same since the 70s. We sold Thomas, James, Morgan, Dobson and many more. Nothing has changed it is what it is.

I don’t care what other teams do I just want the likes of Foster, Hannibal and Laurent to really step up to the EPL plate.

Brentford will undoubtedly join the three promoted teams as the most likely candidates for relegation. A pity, the whacking of MU 4-0
was one of the highlights of that season along with BFC's win at Liverpool. I suppose they have to sell just like BFC.

We already look capable of defending resolutely. It will be interesting to see how Parker sets us up on a game by game basis. COYC.
