  • Benson gone to Swansea after all.

Another wage off the books. News slow coming through though.

"Swansea City is delighted to announce the signing of Manuel Benson on loan from Burnley, subject to international clearance.

The left-footed 28-year-old forward will spend the rest of the 2025-26 campaign with the Swans, and he will wear the number 21 shirt.

The Belgian-born Angola international, will provide a direct, pacy and aggressive creative threat in the final third with his ability to drift infield from the right flank onto his left foot, and a high work-rate without the ball."

Good luck to him. He scored some good goals coming in off the right and curling one in, but too lightweight for the PL, even as an impact sub.

He's a brilliant little footballer but gets knocked about too much and he is very injury prone. He needs to play, I hope he prospers.

Unfortunately for Manny, there are quite a few full-backs in the Championship happy to make sure he doesn't.

The grand old Duke of York,
              He had ten thousand men,
He marched them up to the top of the hill,
Then he marched them down again,
And when they were up, they were up,
And when they were down they were down,
And when they were only halfway up,
They were neither up nor down.

We live in a digital age where I can tell you to bog off mon ami in 2 seconds flat and the FA/UEFA/FIFA can't organise a few bits of paperwork to send a player from Burnley to Swansea. I speculate it would be quicker to organise a moon landing.

No. Not as far as I could throw them.
