How can this transfer saga be allowed to continue. Bfc sell a player to Botifogo and is allowed to play for Botofogo whilst they have not paid the agreed transfer fee. Surely our own football authority should be ensuring the transfer fee is paid or Virginia should not be allowed to play for Botofogo and returned back to Bfc. Does anyone know what the rules are if a team fails to pay their transfer fees??

I don’t know the ins and outs of football contracts.

However, if the contract is written under English law, BFC could sue for specific performant of the contract. That would mean that the transfer fee would have to be paid. Another option is to declare a fundamental breach of contract requiring the return of the player.

All well and good. The problem would be trying to enforce the judgment of an English Court in Brazil. I do not think that that there is a treaty between Brazil and England dealing with the reciprocal enforcement of judgments. Vitinho could have retired by the time that legal point is sorted out! That’s before you get into legal fees!
