The above came to mind for some reason, a gentle, skilled, sophisticated midfielder who played for United at Colchester in the league cup first round in 1970. It was an exciting time, only the second or third game as a league club, at Layer road that throwback to the 40s and 50s, intense in the atmosphere, excellent in all ways.

You wont get his like today.

United are away to Colchester, who have a new ground, its clinical, clean, sparkly, modern, and empty, devoid of emotion atmosphere. Neutral.

As the game will be, a procession, numb, meaningless, just a way of passing time, the brand of football impotent as it comes, lacking in all things.

Im thankfull i lived in that era....not this one, by the way united lost 5-0.

I had never heard of the John Gregson that you refer so it just goes to show how quickly we can fade into obscurity

Carl Jung was a swiss psychiatrist who spoke of synchronicity like the above, coincidences are speaking to you, if you take notice. He also spoke of the process of individuation, becoming your best self, healing childhood wounds, and other wounds.

Its far more than can be written here, look him up on you tube, he is the big daddy of psychology.
