  • Prepare to repel pirates!!

Or maybe gas masks on for the onslaught! It's Steve Evans time again, folks. Rovers have almost a new line up since our last meeting and we have the referee (1 red every 4 games) from our home draw with Newport.
LB is publicly stating that neither Tezgel nor Sanders is available. Is he telling the truth? Assuming he is, what kind of line up is probable?
Well, I suspect a 3 at the back fronted by Thomas and Powell or Holicek. What happens at the front is difficult to predict. O'Reilly and March deserve to start but is this an opportunity for the former to be rested? The other available options are Bogle, Thibaut, Agius and Lankester. It's possible that Bell might think Lankester needs more minutes before starting and I think the same for Bogle, even though he may have edged ahead of Thibaut in the ratings. Agius is capable of scoring but wasn't involved in that at all last month.
It's also possible that I'm wrong about the back 3 and that Bell will stick with 4, try Thomas and Powell in front of them and the stick with Agius, March and O'Reilly with Holicek in the number 10. If that is the case, I have to hope that Holicek produces the goods in either scoring or creating chances.
As for the score, Evans' teams do not allow space or time on the ball for the opposition so, whatever the line up, the lethargic and ponderous Alex will turn up and we'll lose 2-0.

I suppose we feel like our visitors felt last week. I was only able to listen on the radio but I took away - poor referee, typical side from their manager and his usual approach, very poor second half with no attacking intent at all and poor substitutions/ change of formation. One result doesn?t mean the end of our play off hopes but I do think yesterday was pivotal. If we could have got the three points I would have had us as favourites for a play off place. It?s not over yet, but we have made it a lot more difficult for ourselves. Why are we so poor against the poor sides. Talking of poor sides, Walsall are in woeful form?

The match was not on the radio was it or do you mean just the half time report etc? For some reason the BBC didn't air it on DAB? I don't know what the other TV channel they refer too?

I wonder whether LB lost us that game bu making too many subs and its OK saying these players are not 100% fit but when making subs, they have to get chance to get into the pace of the game.

We won't get to the play offs as LB is not experienced enough as a manager. Having three of them is laughable!

I think the lack of replies here suggest that gazan out to think more about his remarks more..about other posters!

On radio throughout the game - freeview 715 on your TV. Frustrating listen, as they were pressing us further and further back, but we came so close to hanging on. At least Sanders and Lankester got some match minutes in their legs, we need them going forward.
