  • Cod almighty????

A few tipsters had Fleetwood down as promotion possible a bit they dropped their 100% record at the weekend. Lots of speculation about Grayson. Maybe someone will take him before tomorrow.
As for tomorrow, I can't help noting a pattern from our first three games: 3, 2,1. Did you spot it? Hopefully, it'll be broken on Tuesday. However, I have a strong feeling that LB will be unable to resist a 3 at the back set up. This would mean Golding in at the back possibly at the expense of Agius up front. He might even toy with the idea of resting O'Reilly and playing Tezgel up front alongside March. This would result in Lunt joining the two rotating midfielders as a three. Who knows? Whether this would also change the intensity of the Alex's game plan is another consideration. May be this would conserve energy to make the second half a bit more competitive.
Anyway, (my) old habits die hard and I fear the Alex will complete the pattern and lose 2-0.

I can't see him resting O'Reilly who could have had a hat trick on Saturday. I assume that if everyone is fit we will be unchanged. It would be nice to see March get off the mark. He has been very good as have all the newcomers. It goes to show that supporters fretting about the lack of signings part way through the summer is unnecessary!

No point in predicting team selection. What will be will be. My wishes are for the same type of pressure and tactics.

Lets go for it, a fourth win on the trot.

The referee for this match is expected to be Thomas Kirk. The last time he reffed an Alex match was the away game at the Fail last season where he produced 1 RED.

            A 2-0 loss???? What do I know??
An amazing performance and we all know it could have been more if it hadn't been for some top quality saves by their goalkeeper.
What a start to the season Lunt is having! Despite the silly yellow card and the penalty give away, he still easily merits MOTM. March is also proving to be an incredible catch, shame he doesn't get an assist for the own goal. He is really energetic and clever with his runs. He's probably already covered more ground than some forwards for the whole of last season.
What is most gratifying about the team so far, is the inclination to shoot. Too many times last season an extra touch was taken by which time the opportunity was lost. Mind you, the Alex didn't get that far forward much last season, especially after Tracey was injured.
I keep thinking: all this happening without Lankester and Holicek. What will happen when they get back. Mind you, is Holicek good enough to replace either Lunt or O'Reilly?
Anyway, on to Saturday. Surely this can't go on? Can it?

We'll know soon! On Saturday McGarry told us we hadn't won the first 3 for 31 years - when did we last win the first 4?

Another excellent display. Could easily been more goals and Fleetwood were completely outplayed. Believe a lot of the credit has to go to our midfield being so competitive, and no based on last seasons lazy displays don`t think there is a place for Holicek.
