How do you know that I am not right? You know more than Jimmy Greaves and Neil Warnock?Originally posted by Timmy58 View PostOn the off chance you are right about coaches not being needed (btw, you are not right), how do you propose to improve players? Or dou you think players can't be improved?
Thanks for the question.
I keeo referring to the old days not that long ago. Players were bought into clubs based on their ability and we know now that most older players have better or more consistent skills than younger players and why is that do you think? In my view its to do with physical ability improving and players learning toplay better based on the experience of playing games. You have heard LB saying the academy and younger players need to be playing games week in and week out and not sitting on the bench and so we know experience is the key and not coaching, otherwise no player needs to go out on loan if we are supposed to have one of the better academies.
This is backed up by my own experience of playing in local football and I was a much better player at 23 than I was when I was younger as again I was physically stronger and learned how to play the game better by playing and watching other players who were better than I was, like in all teams we have that difference.
I use Frank Lord as a great example. Nobody could head a ball like Frank and he still has the most hat tricks here at the club and probably 90% were headed goals as he was hopeless with his feet.
I don't use my opinion on coaching and management based on causing a different opinion on a football forum but based on actual life and experience and each situation like missing two penalties need an answer by the manager why that was? Does he have one or two pen takers and do they practise taking them at RH the whole time as they do have plenty of time imv. The manager should explain the situation and McGarry should have asked him and I really wish he would get out of the habit of thanking the manager at the start of each interview when its part of the contract to do so...
Schools football has virtually stopped now as most of the playing fields have gone and why parents take their kids to academies. But we should remember that kids are at school most of the day and need someone to take them to these academies and really the government/council should pay for that and not the club. Its ridiculous to spend a million pounds on wages for mostly low league pro footballers who in fairness are not thought of as having much intelligence LOL!

How many more games are we going to be forced to view inferior tactics. Yes we had chances yesterday but Barnet were the better team and wanted the win more. We are once again playing hoofball and casually giving the ball away. We look like an unhappy team who have no faith in our managements tactics. Get back to how we played the first 4 games.

I disagree that Barnet looked the better team. They did for the first 20 minutes and then for the last 8 (injury time) when I thought we were really poor. But for 70 minutes WE were the better team. We just didn't make it count. I wish I knew why we are not as good as we were in the first 4 games. Not sure anyone can answer that, because the players are pretty much the same apart from Conor Thomas missing the last few games.Originally posted by lukcour View PostHow many more games are we going to be forced to view inferior tactics. Interesting listening to McGarry and Morse pre game yesterday. They were intimating that fitness wise we were ahead of most other teams at the start of the season. Hence we were able to overpower them and now we are suffering for it. Now the others have caught up. Also I presume that the following info. has come from the club, they said that before yesterday's game we did our most running in the horrific Swindon match according to the captured data which to my naked eye I would definitely dispute. Interesting and could explain one or two things.

If we take from last Christmas to yesterday roughly our win percentage is under 23%.
Gazan for once I agree with you. I too would love to see us return to the full pressed commitment of the first 4 games. But for me it is perfectly clear that is not the way LB and RD want to play. I think we have to get fresh input tactically now, and possibly the easiest solution would be to replace the Assistant Manager. Give LB a period of time.

Why not have a guess why we were not as good as the first four games?Originally posted by Timmy58 View PostI disagree that Barnet looked the better team. It's better than saying nothing and its possible that the main difference is the management and coaches telling them how to play. And the team got pissed off with amateurs telling them?
Seems to me that the enthusiasm has gone and they are hanging back and allowing the other team room to play and are hesitant in the tackle. ie Loss of confidence.
I always ask the question WHY? Its why I got on in life as asking no questions gets you nowhere!
i wonder what exactly they do at RH for a whole week? Sit about? Pass the ball to their mates and just sod about as they clearly don't know who the penalty takers are or they practise them at all? I could not stand seeing my manager every day of the week or coaches telling me HOW to play this game when they have never played it themselves and to be honest spending more than a million a season on all this crap would really piss me off and want to go back to how the game should be played and practise fitness and that is all.
It all reminds us of what happened post Christmas when we went from second in the league to 13th and one win in 17 games? LB and all the other managers and coaches could only pray they wouldn't be sacked after that performance.
Can anyone here explain what happened? Did the manager or Chairman explain?

Something has changed with this site. If I don't look at it for half an hour it kicks me out and I have to log in again. It is becoming tedious!Originally posted by RedandWhiteSpartan View PostI have a bit more to say, but the site posted my first line, and then logged me out twice and lost my text both times!
