Not done much since, except at S****horpe and his own engagement party.
One thing though to counter the bad signings, the aforementioned Forsyth is probably up there in the top handful of signings ever.

Certainly a very good one (thanks Clough Jnr). Top handful ever? Maybe not. Be a good thread though. Favourite ten-twenty signings ever?
I’ll leave it with you, but the bar is very high and many people’s No.1 happens to be 81 today!

It's the definition of best signings i suppose. No doubt if it's best player Fozzy won't be close, but value for money, commitment and consistent performances he's up there.

The most skillful player I've ever seen is kinky but ultimately the value he added wasn't great.

        Impact wise it's Stimac.

I don't recall the title winning days so I can't really judge on those players.

Us oldies were lucky with the teams of the late 60?s / early 70?s. ?Our? Stimac was Mackay, our Kinkladze was Hector but bear in mind the source of so many of our goals was someone who only cost ?600,000 in today?s money, Hinton

The first Derby side I ever saw was the 1971-1972 title winning side, but more as a football supporter than a Rams’ fan in those days.
Derby paid Bradford Park Avenue 40k for Kevin Hector in 1966. I believe 40k in 1966 would now be around 400k. Horribly over simplified I know and almost impossible to compare by today’s standards, but that must represent all time great value.

He was the best forward I’d ever seen ‘live’ at that time and likewise Colin Todd, who, four or five years later cost around 175k, was the most skilful defender. Gone are the days.

Ha! Not quite that old. I started in the ?Paddock? as we hit top gear towards the Div 2 championship in 69, my first 13 games watching Derby (68/69 and early 69/70) were victories!
