  • Matchday Thread: Blackburn v Rams

    So,we're on a roll

Always a toughy against Blackburn, but we seem to be upping the skill and cohesion bit by bit

    Anyone?

    Me, a hard fought 2-1

I'm hoping for a very many to nil away win. They have a capacity of 31367. Their average gate thus far is 14114. The away end holds 7000. They gave us 2700 tickets and when they'd sold out before even ST holders were allowed to buy, they didn't give us any more. Why? Is it because we nicked Eustace last season? Is it because it's their 150th anniversary game and they hope to sell out to home fans? I really hope it comes back to bite them and the ground is, yet again, half empty and Rams fans, as per usual away, are the ones we can hear on TV.

We've won 4 on the bounce, they're on a 3 match winning run. we're playing 1343, they are going 13412. Very similar formations (as per the Hull game last night).

Hard one to call but I'm going for a hard fought 1-2 away win but wishing for a 0-6 away win.

If wishes were horses, beggars would ride. 0-6? Not a chance. 1-2? Can see that happening, depending on availability, one or two seemed to be carrying knocks by the end of last night.

Our recovery last season began with that home win against Blackburn eight months ago. Be nice to carry on where we left off. An away win would have people sitting up and taking notice and its also about what BRFC deserve following there childish attitude to ticketing. Agreeing with 1-2 but take a point.

Never had any beef with blackburn. We were pissed when rowett took a sideways move so I get their confusion.

That said hopefully a 3 nil win.

I think it'll be a case of, let them have their victory, but we'll finish higher than them. Their lot will be more up for it than ours, 1-2 loss.

I'll go along with that RS, we'll have to be at it 100% I reckon to just earn a draw. Yes we've had a nice mini run but the performances have been questionable at times to say the least, as MA mentioned lady luck wasn't far away from our side on Tues night!
One to put behind us, 2-0 defeat looms!

Given my1-1 predictions have been positive for The Rams, I'm sticking with that!

Keep going with those 1-1 predictions, Swale!

Deserved to be 2-0 up, at least, at HT. A tad fortunate to leave with all 3 points, imo, by the end.
Not sure how Matt Clarke didn’t get motm. Without him we’d have struggled.
Subs made a real difference against Hull, but not today. Adams apart, who I thought was excellent, the rest seemed anonymous.
Still 15/15 from the last five is the stuff of dreams compared with where we were a month ago. Onwards and upwards.

I fully interned to RA, until the spell is broken! I take it Ozoh came off due to injury? Hope its not too serious, he deserves an injury free run of games.

great result, I'd actually give Adams MOM, I've been critical of his distribution in the past but it was spot on today, esp forthe second goal

Thank God Salvesen bogged up today when it didnt matter rather than tuesday

Didn’t look good Swale. He came off after ten minutes following an innocuous turn with what looked like a repeat of the thigh injury that happened about this time last year. Fingers crossed. As you say, he deserves some better luck.

Long as he does it when it counts - phew!!! I had a bad feeling second half, was fearing a 3-2 loss, but they did what was required, 5 on the bounce is nothing to underestimate.
Crosses for the 2 goals today was fantastic, especially the 2nd.

Until the penno they'd offered nothing! Shame Salverson didn't score as it would have boosted his confidence.
For the fans who went up it was a 'grand day out'!
As rA says the table looks much better now. COYR.

I was intrigued by the refereeing "performance". Very kind towards us 1st half, very kind to them 2nd half. That bump on CM9 just outside the box. How that wasn't a free kick... Lots of strange decisions by the fella.

We were the better side 1st half and 2 up at HT was the least we deserved. I commented that I hoped we didn't sit back and defend in the 2nd... we did and we gave them reason to believe. Wrong decision IMO. Should ave kept on doing what had worked so well in the first half.
