She's doing well thanks. They couldn't do the full surgery but say they will be able to in about a weeks.
An experience in A and E. I don't know how to say it other than there was some really strange characters there. Patients not staff.
It was busy we waited a long time but I have nothing but praise for the staff they were so nice with mum and all of us.

You're right about 3's - this year I've had an amputation, a cancer diagnosis and lost my Mum. 2025 won't be remembered fondly here eitherOriginally posted by ramAnag View PostSundays in hospital, never the best time. Hope she’s okay, Sith and things are looking up. They say bad things come in threes. Reckon you might have had yours now.

God, that’s truly tough by any standards. I knew about one and you’d hinted at another, but that certainly puts problems in perspective. I know we have our differences but I genuinely hope the next twelve months are much kinder.Originally posted by Geoff Parkstone View PostYou're right about 3's - this year I've had an amputation, a cancer diagnosis and lost my Mum. 2025 won't be remembered fondly here either

Try A&E on a Friday or Saturday night, Sith. Well don’t actually. Horrible place to be and I agree about the staff.Originally posted by SithHappens View PostShe's doing well thanks. They couldn't do the full surgery but say they will be able to in about a weeks.

Had the misfortune to take my Mum to the old DRI between Christmas and New Year about 18 years ago. A trip from which she sadly never returned. Genuinely wanted to punch one little scrote who was so rude and aggressive to a nurse who was only trying to help him after he’d overdone things on drink or drugs. Don’t know how they put up with some of the time wasting and obnoxious behaviour.

One of the paramedics was saying how much abuse they get.Originally posted by ramAnag View PostTry A&E on a Friday or Saturday night, Sith. Well don’t actually. Horrible place to be and I agree about the staff.

He said everyone applauding them in covid, that goodwill and appreciation soon went. One of his colleagues was chased out of a house they had been called out too, slipped on wet decking and now off work due to the injury sustained.
We actually witnessed at least two people walk out, obviously annoyed by the wait, but surely if you are capable of walking out you shouldn't be there in the 1st place.

Yes I've seen a bit of A&E over the last 12 months as well and its something of a horror show - just because its overcrowded and so people have to wait, get frustrated and take it out on the staff because they havent been prioritised as much as they think they should be. I think a year or so I related the tale of the girl who came in because she had fallen over - when asked if anything was broken, she said "my watch"......
and the drunks in there on a Saturday night.... and those coming in with a police escort... its all a joy
