Depends who owns it, im not sure. if its owned by the same people who own the other Intu car parking they'll be looking at it in the round, if the costs (capital works, security, insurance etc) are such that the net revenue is greater with it closed than open, commercially its better for them closed. There's also (rA may well implode at this) a 'tweak' whereby business rates can be avoided which reduces costs further,Originally posted by SithHappens View Posthttps://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cy07px4539lo
Makes no sense when there is a perfectly good one sat doing nothing.
Can't get my head around closing the cockpitt one then doing nothing with it.

If it just buy it then? Surely got to be cheaper than building a new one.Originally posted by Andy_Faber View PostDepends who owns it, im not sure. if its owned by the same people who own the other Intu car parking they'll be looking at it in the round, if the costs (capital works, security, insurance etc) are such that the net revenue is greater with it closed than open, commercially its better for them closed. I know things aren't always that simple but such a space left empty is a disgrace whatever the reason. It's not even that old really.

rA won’t…doesn’t have a clue what you’re talking about, but agrees entirely with Sith. We’ve got a bloomin’ big fit for purpose multi-storey in the centre of Derby. How can it make sense to knock it down to build another?Originally posted by Andy_Faber View PostDepends who owns it, im not sure. if its owned by the same people who own the other Intu car parking they'll be looking at it in the round, if the costs (capital works, security, insurance etc) are such that the net revenue is greater with it closed than open, commercially its better for them closed.
