FFS get on with it. But at least the Donald got a richly deserved award! 70 minutes in and fxxx all has happened apart from some mindless interviews

    What's everyone's predictions?

England to fall just a bit short again?

    The US surprise finalists?

Trump drafted in as emergency forward and scoring a hattrick in the final?

My son, who lives about fifty minutes west of New York, tells me that a WC ticket in NYC is likely to be around $900!
        People’s game!

Sith’s predictions? Probably. Not a snowball’s. He’s more likely to be dead by then.

Yeah I do agree on the US and it's a bit tongue in cheek, but fifa being the corrupt organization they are and clearly pandering to trump, a surprise var call here and there might give those snowballs some extra protection

I'm not going to plana trip. Gorget the daft pricing, one look at my socials and they'll put me on the next flight back.

The organisation behind the LGBTQ+ "Pride Match" at the 2026 World Cup say they intend to push forward with their plans despite one of the teams involved objecting to Fifa.

Have to admit, unfair on Egypt and Iran to be forced to participate, they should be allowed to withdraw from the tournament in protest

You'd have thought the organisers would have more sense than to select a team between two Moslem states that are hardline anti gay as an expression of LBTQ pride. COr maybe they are trying to make a point.

It had already been designated before the draw.

Thet could move it but why should they really.

Ah IK, so it's pure chance then unless we believe deep conspiracy theories of rigged draws.

But the solution is simple. The Belgium v New Zealand game in same group is on same day a few miles away in Vancouver, same time zone. Just switch the locations. The game is still months away so not too late to flip them.

The world cup is supposed to be a "celebration of football" not a tool to politicise (although Trump already has) minority groups, particularly one that promotes activities that are illegal in the participants home countries.

Respect the cause, respect the countries, flip the two games.

Also agreed, if you mean swap the teams not the event. Seattle appear to have been the big mover in this happening in the first place

But, it won’t happen IMO and will continue to be a running sore right up to and beyond kick off and cause yet more division. Some way to go before the 1970 WC though, which started a war

Aye respect the two countries where the fact homo***uality is illegal is IMO the least of the problematic issues with either of these two countries. Being dictatorships and authoritarian regimes that have an antedulivian attitude to women should mean they have no place in the World Cup given that FIFA purport to be an inclusive organisation.

... including authoritarian antedulivians isn't inclusive?
