Brilliant result for Macclesfield. Ethan McLeods parents were there and in the dressing room after. Must have been a huge range of emotions.

Does Palace getting dumped out of the Cup in the 3rd round by Macclesfield in a game in which the largest ever league position gap between winner and loser was achieved, now make them the worst team in prmeier League history?

          Lol I don't think so.

But its certainly the worst defence of the FA Cup ever.

I think it suggests, seeing as Palace have won their last three games against the current Champions and Macclesfield have now beaten Palace, that Macclesfield are now the Champions!

Unfortunately, for every Macclesfield there’s an Exeter City.

The first time that the holders have been dumped out of the cup as t the first hurdle by a non league side since 1909, when then non league Cripple Palace beat holders Wolves

Bet if you asked a palace fan last season if they could win the cup then get knocked out in humiliation they would have still taken it

Well we got as far as Tottenham, Palace and Forest, so we must be a big team.
Predictable, but all forgotten if we can take three points from PNE next week.

Need to defend better at PNE, let them walk into our box too easily too often. New lad looks useful, hopefully get him fit.

Well turned out much as we expected, a cup run would have been nice, but given our injuries and lack of quality in depth probably for the best. Target now must be to finish as high up the championship we can.

Agree with that. Would like to be in the position that we don't look over our shoulder in the last 5 games.

1-3 with 6 changes to the previous starting XI. They had 8 changes but were still better than us. Same old failings. Failure to clear sufficiently on too many occasions. One of which led to their equaliser. Ball partly cleared, fell just outside our box, Salvesen and Ward were both favourite to get the ball but they both left it for the other... 2 seconds later, the ball gets passed out to the other edge of our box where the unmarked Gnonto rifled in a very good shot. Fozzy drifted in leaving his man free? Second came from the same area, Fozzy again leaving his man too much room? 3rd was from a counter. Ours? I thought CBT did very well to get into that position before getting knocked over, getting up again and... I'm not sure if he pushed the ball to BBD or if it was a defender, either way, Ben put it away well.

Their penalty? Seen 'em given. JWZ put himself there, the ball was pushed away from the goal and then their player drifted right and both feet connected with the inside of Jacob's right thigh. IMO, VAR would have disallowed the penalty. Purely academic, as it turned out, good save from JWZ but I'm not sure if VAR would have allowed the save. Not seen it from a good angle, however, his right foot was definitely in front of the line when the kick was taken. His left? Not sure. The front of his foot was over the line, absolutely. The heel was in the air and might just have been above the line. Either way it was close. Ref's assistant's job to make that call and he didn't so his heel was above the line (cough).

Same old? Not onlt clearrance failures, poor passes (Adams guitly too often). wrong choice of pass, not challenging players in MF but allowing to run 40 or 50 yards with the ball.

Can't argue with the win, they deserved it. Wev were at least as good (or bad?) as them for half an hour. Our goal seemed to wake them up and, especially 2nd half, they pressed very well and made life difficult.

We can noe focus on the League and cementing our place in midtable mediocrity.

I think CBT did enough to give JE a headache. If he can replicate that form in the League, play him left, Aggy in t middle and Brestwer or BBD out on the right. Even bigger headache when Morris is fit again... luxury problems.

JWZ our man of the match. Fozzy is, IMO, a bench sitter now. Salvesen idem ditto. Travis, Adams and Salvesen were all lucky to avoid a card. Fraulo seemed to drift in and out but that's forgivable for a first game in England. Eames looked lively and ought to have cemented a place on the bench for the PNE game at the weekend.

That would be Chumbawumba Blackett Taylor then?
