Its strange that the Germans boo Littler, given that his surname rhymes with their national hero

However its a price of success I suppose - 2 years ago he was the underdog and veryone loved him - now he is a dominant reigning champion unfeasibly early in his career and so people have switched to support other players. A bit like why people wanted Hamilton or Schumacher to lose as they dominated their sport/era. I must admit I tend to support underdogs - hence why I follow DCFC and England cricket - but would I pay good money to go and boo a player like Littler - no.

Does seem odd but then sports fans can be, lando norris is on the end of it everywhere for some reason I can't fathom.

Hamilton gets it in Spain but at least we know the reason for that.

I moderated a F1 fb page for a couple of turbulent years and I'd suggest:

Norris, because he appears vulnerable and wears his heart on his sleeve, because he's British (especially one for the Aussie fans), because he's not Max

Hamilton, because he's black (although he's mixed race which his denial of makes things worse), because he cost Alonso a title (Spanish fans only), because he's 'woke', because he's British, because he's not Max

              And incidentally

Russsell, because he's 'posh', because he's therefore assumed to be a Tory, because he's British, because he's not Max, because he stands up to Max

online F1 spats / nastiness leaves places like this standing, I used a pseudonym when moderating that page

                Hamilton denies he's mixed race?

Ok for those not clear thinking enough to make assumptions, ‘I use a pseudonym when moderating that page, whereas I have a Facebook profile using my real name for all other purposes - as do many moderators’.
