  • Matchday Thread: Owls v Rams

Worrying overconfidence from the Radio Derby team last night about this being a nailed on victory. Despite their league position they are still fighting, and Derby do seem to have a habit of easing teams out of bad runs. I'll go for a hard fought 2-1

    Anyone?

A draw I think, perhaps 0-0 although our nemesis Barrie Bannan is still with them isnt he

If we don't win it'll be a bad reaction. 3-0 Derby.

2-1 win. Bannan for them, not bothered who scores for us as long as we get more than they do.

Allowing for the compulsory late goal that we will concede and the Bannan effect a disappointing 2-2.

Agreeing with mac here (is that allowed?). Bannan always seems to produce against us, there’s no pressure on them, they have pride and relatively local rivalry to play for and we’re still missing crucial players. So, hoping for more but 2-2 doesn’t seem unlikely.

Happy to be wrong. They had little pride. Bannan went missing at 0-2. They were lucky to finish without a red card and we should have scored five or six. They are the worst side I’ve seen this season, but we were dominant once we went ahead so that’ll do.

We should have had more but let's not be greedy.

Some salty Wednesday fans complaining about the Derby chants. I wouldn't chant it but if you can't take it don't give it.

                      Good day at the office!
I didn't think there was much between the teams, but after gifting us the first goal they seemed to drop their heads.

For getting on for 30 minutes, I saw 2 teams incapable of stringing more than 3 or 4 passes together before gifting the ball to the opposition and neither keeper being worried.

One poor pass from them led to our first, well taken by Big Pat. We took over at the point and they managed just the one shot on target all game. They looked fragile and even more so after going behind. We might have had half a dozen or more but Brewster, BBD and Clark all managed to fire wide or over when they really ought to have done better.

Well pleased for Tommo getting a goal, the work he put in and the way he did his job was excellent.

A 2nd for Pat came from a defender handing him the ball on a plate. Having said that, you have to be there in the first place to receive the plate and then put it away, which he did.

They were, IMO, lucky to finish with 11 on the park. Also, they are poor. -25 GD says it all. We weren't brilliant but stuffed them on just under 40% possession. Scored 3, should have had more and their one shot on target didn't worry JWZ. They'd still be bottom by a fair few points if they'd not had the deductions. They're down.

The chant? 3200 of them did it at PP, they should have expected it to be returned. I wouldn't have joined in but so get why it was done.

Derby did what was required, and finally we ahve options up front, which is good. We do need to sort the midfield out though.

Yes, the commentators were saying that the game was being played in the middle of the park- all I saw was both teams giving the ball away in the middle, nobody controlled it. We did look good on the counter though, and didn't just bash it long, which was pleasing.

Just like us all too recently it's sad to see another great club up the creek without a paddle and my sympathies are with all those long standing fans who are always the ones to suffer!
However, we'll gleefully take the 3 points on offer even though it was from a totally uninspiring and drab performance but is one which at least leaves us some 11 points from the drop zone!!
