  • The rest of this season

We've crept into the crypt, hope we don't crap and creep out again

Looking at the state of the poll, I'm starting to think that the current top 5 are likley to remain exactly that, the top 5. Numbers 5 and 6 have, respectively, 2 and 1 games in hand, on most of the chasing pack.

Of the pack, down to Watford in 12th, with the exception of Wrexham and Bristol, all have played 32, the other two 31. I think that those 7 clubs are in the fight for 6th place.

Not impossible that one of the top 5 can implode but I'm nor expecting that to happen. Can we out perform the other contenders over the remaining games. Love to do it but don't see it happening and won't be despondent if we don't make the playoffs. A top 10 finish would be good when you look at where we were just 12 months ago

Beat Watford at theirs this Saturday and I think we take them out of the equation.

    Games to go:

    Watford (A)
    Hull (A) on my 72nd b'day
    Blackburn (H)
    Wendy (H)
    Millwall (A)
    Pompey (A)
    Brum (H)
    Coventry (A)
    Stoke (H)
    Soton (A)
    Oxford (H)
    Norwich (A)
    QPR (A)
    Sheff U (H)

Surely we can get 20 or more points from those to end on 68+ and be in with a shout of extending the season?
All to play for and I'm not doing predictions at this stage as teams have every chance of drifting in to/out of form, including us. We're probably helped by having 8 of the 14 away

It would be nice to think so.

Hopefully the outcome of the season is decided before the last game (selfishly) as im away that weekend.

Also away for the play off final, looks like its Saturday 23rd May unless they switch them again, I might be looking for a bar in Belfast to watch.

Mm I wouldn't like to predict either. Of the games left one would like to think that we could get 3pts against Blackburn, Wendy, Pompey, Oxford, at the very least, with others being close games where a Pt is eminently achievable.

Anyway the Rams are staying up!!

Always postive about things, I want us to get to the playoffs and I want us to win them. Next season can then take care of itself, and I'd like the older generation to consider the chance young fans have, reardless of our result, to see the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Man U in all their 'glory' (I'm trying hard to be objective here and it hurts) in meaningful matches

BUT I want us to do it from 6th place, nothing more depressing that finishing third due to some random goal five minutes from time and then get beaten by some crap who 'just crept in' to revisit Swale's OP (can't remember the year, I think it was when we lost to Leicster)

There's no WILL we from me, hope springs eternal where DCFC are concerned

Well I just did a game by game analysis pointing to us getting 23 more points, for 71 in all. Sixth place usually needs 74 points so its 7th or 8th for me.

Id love to have shared the wins draws and losses but once more the system went down on me preventing this happening and I cant be arsed to type it all out again

We’re averaging 1.5 points per game, although the spread is uneven given that we won very few points prior to late October.

Maintain that record and we’ll have another 21 points which would give us 69 (tap in for you there, GP ) at the end of the season, but with so many clubs in contention (possibly down to Sheff. Utd and Swansea in 15/16th) and with so many having to play each other, who can possibly tell?

Anyway, as Swale said…the Rams are staying up and that’s all most of us hoped for six months ago.

Derby have done really well over this past year and who knows you could face us (the Lions) in the play offs, amazing. Long way to go though yet.

We've done really well so far, but not much separates us from midtable, which is where I think we are squad wise. In terms of something to play for, it would be lovely to finish 8-10th, to make us feel positive about next year.

You could do us a favour and go up automatically, just knock Boro off 2nd spot, they are due a drop in form!!

I absolutely agree with you, I would want us to go up, 2007 seems a long time ago!! but unless we significantly improve our form I think realistically 7-9th is the best we can hope for. But one never knows and as you say hope springs eternal.

Sam Szmodics subbed on, on 115 minutes. Subbed off at 120 + 1. Injured. Stretchered off, unconscious. Hopefully it's not too bad. If it does mean a lay off, Bobby Clark can go back to his, IMO, best position.
