  • New first-team coach Christoph Buhler

Christoph Buhler recently joined John Eustace’s backroom staff at Derby County, officially joining in the first week of February.

Apparently the job title is first-team tactical coach.

The 48-year old has previous working experience in England as well as his native Germany. He was the assistant coach at Huddersfield Town from 2015 to 2019 under David Wagner before following him to spells at Schalke and Swiss side Young Boys.

Buhler then returned to England in 2023 as the assistant manager at Norwich City until May 2024.

Here's hoping one of the "new" tactics will be passing, rather more often, to a teammate. He seems to have a fair amount of experience and it will be interesting to see how tactics change although I'd not expect to see massive changes in the first few weeks.

Pass to a teammate, I mean you'll be suggesting more than 30% possession next🤣

he does seem to have the required expereince and its positive that Eustace has recognised he needs some more coaching input.

An intended humorous response to mac. Seems the smiley didn't do its job.

Had to Google to make sure we hadn't hired the main suspect in the Madeline McCann disappearance.
