  • Matchday Thread: Millwall v Derby 10/3/2026

We are 7th, they are 3rd. We recently lost 4-2 atHull, despite not playing at all badly. They are short in midfield due to injuries yet won at Hull 3-1 on Saturday but apparently did not play that well. We also appear to have lost our away mojo.

    2-0 them I think.

I too have experienced the "unique" atmosphere at The Dell!! Anyway 1-1 for me.

The ‘Den’, Swale. Millwall at ‘the Dell’ doesn’t have quite the same ring to it. I’ve not been to either but there seemed something much more ‘picturesque’ about the Dell than the ‘Den’ and Cold Blow Lane.

Cold Blow Lane. The original Den. Having been there on the odd occasion, I have always thought that, if you gave an architect carte blanche to design and build a ground and surrounding area that was perfect for ambushing visiting fans, there's very little they could do to improve on Millwall's old ground. Not been to the new place.

1-0 defeat. Not as bad as I'd imagined. The stats are pretty even apart form goals for and thre's only 1 difference there. They had more of the game. We fimished the better side without actually finding the net. Szmodics should have done better, at least hit the target, with his chance. Ditto Morris with his header. Pat had 3. 1st one was a decent header that was stopped on the line, 2nd one he put wide of the right hand post when, IMO, he ought to have aimed for just inside the left hand post, 3rd he hit the post. Fans called for a hand ball penalty, there was ball hand comtact but not an offence so no penalty there. In the seconds after Pat hit the post, a Derby player (SS or Clark) went down in the box, also not a penalty.

Too many misplaced passes for my liking. The ball didn't run for us. They got most of the second phase balls. Not because we weren't strong enough in challenges for 2nd balls, they simply fell to a Millwall player in space. It happens.

Onwards and upwards as they say.

Oh the joys of entering the old Den with it's oh so friendly fans!!!!

Also never had the pleasure of the new incarnation.

They're a better team, just have to take it on the chin. More concerned about our goal keeper problem, wasn't expecting a keeping disaster! Thankfully, I don't think we need to worry about promotion/demotion now, so just a case of having a decent finish which'll look good to any potential signings.

Exactly. Better than expected, especially at half time. Ultimately unlucky not to take a point but Millwall could have had it won in the first half. Encouraging that we came back so strongly after being outplayed in the opening 45. Disappointing that we were so wasteful.
Suspect we’ll be meeting again next season.
