We started brightly but from the moment we scored but bit by bit we let them take over seemingly relying on quick counter attacks. All well and good but imo they were there for the taking and we could/should have finished them off. We defended well but let the opposition dominate the ball and they will create openings, fortunately O'Donnell was excellent and showed confidence in all he did.
Quite why many of the lads spent more time on their arses who knows but their attempts at dancing on ice was almost comical at times!
I hope Pompey stay up because it's a club I've always respected. Clearly lack of firepower may prove their downfall and they need to sort that out quickly.
As far as we are concerned I don't see us making the play offs but a very satisfactory season no the less.

Agreed, the season has almost become "boring" for the right reasons. I'm not inclined to think we will make the play offs, but stranger things have happened. I'm in agreement with others, Travis hasn't really slotted into our side. I must admit I was wondering why Eustace plays Szmodics, but then he goes and scores!

I feel for Morris, it takes a while to get back "up to speed" after an injury, but he isn't getting much game time.

It was really hard watching. In the 2nd half, we didn't get a throw in until the 78th minute, Pompey pressed us really well and I don't recall a single period of controlled possession.
O'Donnell's save was match winning, top quality.
Morris will come good, but big Pat rightfully keeping his place. Szmodics got his goal, and gives us another option, jury's out on whether a perm signing is worthwhile though. Need to invest in the midfield for next season!
3 points and stress levels are lowering, a nice relaxing April will be very much welcomed.

Watford won last night but stay behinf us, they beat Wrexham who didn't pull away from us. Soton could get 3 points ahead of us if they win their game in hand. Average 2 points a game in the run in and we could quite easily be extending our season by 2 or 3 games. Still not expecting it but stranger things have happened.

Morris has been restricted to cameos on his return thus far. To me he doesn't look anything like as sharp as he was.

Then there's the Szmodics/Clark conundrum for the AM role. I'd play Trav and Ozoh as the two DMs. Clark or SS as the AM? Clark will create more but SS is, IMO, more likely to score. Overall, for better balance in the side, I'd go for Clark.

Another player I'd give a start is Banel who looks sharp. We're not going down so let's have a go at winning our games on the front foot.

Without regard to your last sentence RP I couldn't agree more! To let the season wind down perhaps hoping we nick the play offs is a no no to me, let's have a real go! Attack, attack, attack!!

Soton play their game in hand tonight, home to Norwich. I'm actually wearing a canary yellow sweater, donned before realising that game was on tonight...
