Didn't Powell date Smiths daughter? Wonder if they are still together.

Didn't see owt of game as enjoying the delights of South Wales at present!
I see we managed our compulsory one goal, from comments not a particularly enthralling game but hey ho another win to improve our only do so home record. Another pint of the local brew to celebrate, summat with a dragon on it but not bad! It keeps one lubricated, UTR🍻

Both and one scored today! No JE hasn't said thats what he is doing, but has put youngsters to start and on the bench, perhaps due to injury situation but good to see.

I do wonder where we would be if Morris had stayed fit?

Must admit I did think the situation was crying out for Eames or Allen to come on and run at them in the last 15-20 mins but JE obviously thought otherwise.

Although I was up cheering with the rest yesterday I was sure Szmodics was in an offside position when Babel shot, and arguably ‘active’ as he was in the keepers line of sight. I’ve since heard his interview and he says he touched the ball on its way into goal - that’s surely offside. Did we get away with one?

He was in an offside position. But considering they have allowed goals when a player has been in an offside position in the 6 yard box and stood in front of the keeper then would have been harsh.

Obviously if he touches it, it is definitely off.

Having seen it at the time, seen it from various angles since...

                1. it didn't look like SS touched it but, if he did, then he was in an offside position and the goal should have been chalked off so, in that case, we got away with one.

                2. If he didn't touch it, with him being almost in line with the left hand post and the keeper looking like he was to the right of the middle of the goal, the keeper had full sight of the ball and, although he was in an offside position, SS wasn't offside and the goal was correctly given.

Good appraisal. Never occurred to me that SS had touched it live and having watched it a few times since I haven’t changed my mind so I’m sticking with 2.
Tbh those officials on Saturday would have probably missed it if it had cannoned in off SS’s backside, but any possible contact must have been so minuscule it would have needed cricket’s ultra edge DRS technology to spot it. Let’s not give them ideas.
