  • Matchday thread: Rams v Blades May 2nd 2026

A tad early but I thought I'd let you know that there are less than 600 tickets left available for home fans.

They have nowt to play for. Quite likely we won't either. If that happens, I would not be surprised to see Eames and Cruz get a start.

Well at least that's someone new to get a significant injury in the season

All to play for. We really ought to beat SUFC.

All home seats are sold out. Yesterday afternoon, there were less than 80 hospitality slots left at ?150 a go. First full house of the season, it seems.

I'm expecting a win, but not to get in the play offs. But who knows?

As GP has suggested, results have kept the last day alive. The only thing we can be sure of is that we’ll finish no lower than 8th which is a great achievement considering what we’ve come through and where we’ve been in the last three or four seasons. We should win on Saturday, but I’ll go for an anti climactic 1-1 draw, if only because that suggestion has served me well in recent months.

Back in Sept/Oct who’d have thought being within touching distance of 6th on the last Saturday of the season would have been possible?

I'll go for a draw but losses for Hull and Wrexham backing us into playoffs on goal difference (against Millwall)

2-2 but the party atmosphere isn't dampened when we don't quite make the play offs.

What an anti climax. Could easily have been three up within the first twenty minutes but then seemed to stop playing and were actually outplayed for the last hour by a Sheffield United side who deserved the points.

As things turned out it wouldn’t have made a difference whatever happened, but that was a poor performance after a genuinely encouraging start and at half time there seemed to be everything to play for…had we turned up.

Very disappointed in the substitutes, not one of whom made any impact, the ‘spat’ between Clark and his captain wasn’t great to see and it’s never good when your goalkeeper is your MOTM.

Still a good season, but much to do in preparation for what seems likely to be a much tougher ‘division’ next season.

It was all looking so good too.

Im just glad the loss ultimately didn't cost us.

Its been fun this season, now let's enjoy the WC , supporting England and Cape Verde for me.

Next season will be here before we know it.

England, Haiti, Morocco and Brazil for me.

Shame about the game, but we wouldn't have been playoff ready for Millwall due to injuries if we had snuck through. Looked good at HT and I think that hardening possibility may have been why we froze in H2.

Never mind. Outperformed expectations and the 1 win in first 10 games start to the season was the problem, not so much game 42

Or even League game 46, GP.

Could have been 4 up at HT. Could have been 4 down by the end. It all just caught up with us in the end. No complaints. Que sera, que sera.

Unforunate attempted back pass for their first and that seemed to lift them and demoralise us. Happy enough with the season overall.

WC? Not overly excited by the prospect as yet. Obviously, I shall be interested in the results of the 2 countries whose citizenship I enjoy. I will also have a sneaky eye on Iran's progress, and hope that their players and staff get a) well treated and b) not troubled by ICE or protestors.
