As I understand things, the club is owned by a subsidiary company of Clowes Developments which ring fences the costs from his personal finances and presumably limits the expenditure via a business plan. He will have a limit as to how much he will "invest" in the club and indeed has admitted that he requires outside investment to take the club further as its beyond his resources.

I'm not sure if the ground is still in a separate company, but presumably what he spent on buying that could be reimbursed as part of any new partner coming in?

Both club and ground are part of Derby County whatever Ltd/PLC and fall under the umbrella of Clowes Developments to the best of my knowledge. The 50 odd million he (CD Ltd) has put in over the 4 years will be offset against tax so the net "investment" will be somewhat lower than the 50 odd million "investment".

One would imagine that, if Sheikh Yamunny paid, for instance, 80M for 80% of the club, all of that would go to DC Ltd to cover part of the approx 110M he and the company have paid out thus far. That leaves DC with 20% (20M) of the club and he's "only" lost 10M saving the club. AI says he has a net worth of around 350M so saving the club has cost him around 3% of his current worth. Not bad business.

.....be even better business if he can turn a profit by selling out the majority holding! I mean he bought a league one team out of administration that was going nowhere and is selling a upper echelon championship team with prospects. Its got to be worth more than he paid for it in theory.

NB the club [Derby County (The Rams) Limited] is owned by Clowes Developments (UK) Limited via Derby County (The Rams) Holdings Limited as an intermedaite holding company. The stadium is held by Derby County (The Rams) Stadium Limited itself also a subsidiary of Derby County (The Rams) Holdings Limited.

So the club and the stadium are owned by two different companies, but both are ultimately controlled by CD (UK) Ltd via the itermediate holding company.

The stadium is valued in the books of of DC(TR)S at ? 74.5m (cost ? 81.0m less impairment of ? 6.5m). At 30-06-2025 the club owed ? 63.1m to CDUK re operational funding. Doubtless this will have gone up by now.

Derby are among a number of clubs linked with Dundee United and Republic of Ireland winger Will Ferry this summer, and it looks like the bidding war for the 25-year-old has begun.

Omari Kellyman to return to his home town club? Cardiff keen to keep him on loan but a big, young attacking midfielder
who has had only very limited game time with Villa and Chelsea since he left us might make sense. Guessing Chelsea would want to recoup some of the scary amount they paid for him.
