There's a nice Karma moment coming soon.
The Russian outrage has shown up the lunancy of Europe, putting its eggs into Putins basket.
So we now need that energy review to step up a few gears.
We have the capacity to extract more gas/oil, to be exporting that to the EU, now they are going to be short. Maybe the tone will change somewhat,
A review published in March 2020 by Warwick Business School of previous studies concluded that UK fracking could produce between 90 and 330 billion cubic metres (bcm) of natural gas between 2020 and 2050. This would represent between 17 and 22 per cent of projected cumulative UK consumption over that period.
This will upset the green zealots, but needs must

I don't care what party he was with Maddy.Originally posted by MadAmster View PostTa TTR. If he'd stayed with the Tories he'd never have been expelled by the Labour Party
He was a snivelling, bullying snake.
As house speaker, he was supposed to be neutral and strong. He abused the position and made his association with the Tories untenable. He jumped, before pushed.
Corbyn nominated him for a piership. He thinks he's been hard done by.
A mirror and a good look into it would help.

Basically banned from parliament for being a lying bully. And good riddance tohim, Lindsay Hoyle is a much better speaker and still brings personality to the role without resorting to self agrandisementOriginally posted by MadAmster View PostNot seen that. What sort of karma did he get?

And by that statement, the case for the prosecution that your judgement is flawed is proven M'Lord!Originally posted by Andy_Faber View PostBasically banned from parliament for being a lying bully. Hoyle is a better speaker? What?
A speaker who does not call Ministers to account and demand they apologise when its clear they have misled (lied) to parliament? On multiple occasions when there is absolutely no question they have told lies!
On that one point alone he fails any sentient persons test! because if ministers are allowed to lie in parliament then that institution is in dire straits.
But then its obvious that being devious, lying and distorting facts is something some posters on here agree with, whilst of course attempting to portray themselves as the guardians of fair and proper judgement! So no surprise there at all!

A nakedly corrupt and evidently narcissistic leader, surrounded by a phalanx of accommodating acolytes, enriched his supporters with liquidised public assets and spurious government schemes, flagrantly broke international treaties, trashed domestic political standards, systematically flooded social media with fake news, used his power over the press to spread disinformation over many decades, sought to destabilise the EU, had fruitful meetings with far right figures in Europe and America, weaponised nostalgic nationalism, and allowed refugees to be used as cannon fodder in an ongoing border dispute. But now is not the time for Keir Starmer to call for Boris Johnson’s resignation.
Oh and for the petty nit picking ****ers on this Forum, this was by Stewart Lee the comedian, just in case Mr Faber wets his pants over the source.

Nice bloke, Lindsay Hoyle...much prefer to spend time with him than Bercow...but as a ‘Speaker’...no contest...Bercow every time, imo.Originally posted by Andy_Faber View PostBasically banned from parliament for being a lying bully. Could always bring back Betty Boothroyd...best of the bunch, again imo, and still only 92.
On the subject of being ‘banned from parliament for being a lying bully’...now is not the time...but hardly unprecedented actions are they.

Regarding your quote, if you are relying on the words of Stewart Lee to win your argument, you really are desperate, I think you'dhave been better leaving us in suspense

To each their own rA. I actually think Harriet Harman would have been a good choice (and for that matter for leader of the Labour Party) but I guess the incumbent has got to want itOriginally posted by ramAnag View PostNice bloke, Lindsay Hoyle...much prefer to spend time with him than Bercow...but as a ‘Speaker’...no contest...Bercow every time, imo.

Bercow the chosen choice?Originally posted by Andy_Faber View PostTo each their own rA. I actually think Harriet Harman would have been a good choice (and for that matter for leader of the Labour Party) but I guess the incumbent has got to want it
Lets get this straight. The position of speaker is supposed to be neutral.
Bercow re wrote the rules unilaterally and helped the opposition change legislation to suit.
His compliance finally rewarded by being sucked intot he Labour party, then them having to boot him out.
A despicable little man syndrome bully, who thought he ruled the roost and could do what he wanted.
If anyone really takes this narcissist seriously, they need committing.
The verdict is in. John Bercow, the former Speaker of the House of Commons, has been found guilty by the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards on 21 out of 35 counts of bullying. For those interested, the full report has been released online. It makes in places for astonishing reading: he repeatedly denies imitating people in [...]Read More...
I'm sure you lot could compare him with some of the refs you claimed to have had,

Actually Pop, its you who feel the need to post a snide remark in respect of my comments, I'm just giving the old boy due return! One has to show disrespect to those old and past it, not that I think you were ever with it!Originally posted by Andy_Faber View PostI'm already slightly worried about your interest in my every comment, and now you're talking about my pants? Ah now your true colour shows, wasn't actually relying on him to win an argument, I do that on many occasions with you, not that you'd acknowledge it of course, you just go quiet, change the subject or make a lame attempt at humour!
However, what he says is absolutely on the money, but if your so closed minded (and you demonstrate this in every post) as to judge what is said or written by the author rather than the message, (or as previously by gleefully claiming I'd been rumbled, like a child) then that says a lot about your approach to life and hence your rather "narrow world view".
By the way you never did say why you were so concerned about the apparent over representation of BAME people in the media, but then I suspect any answer would be uncomfortable for you to give, or maybe not Gammons have no shame I believe.
