I've got a copy of Misty Blue on Malaco by Dorothy Moore that's styrene, not sure about any others

Sweet Soul. Slow, mellow and Sweet Soul is making a comeback. There's a growing number of gigs doing that and Deep Soul. I put it down to the advancing age of Soulies, most of whom can no longer do 8 hours solid dancing to 100mph bangers.

I wasn?t a dancer but always did a Northern Soul mini-set when DJing - guaranteed to either fill the floor or clear it, seldom the middle ground.

I love Deep Soul, my favourite since I heard it on an Ace sampler maybe 30 years ago is ?Ain?t Gonna Do You Harm? by Betty Willis. Never seen it on vinyl (or styrene?) but I?m not really a collector so I guess it?s out there somewhere

So, last night I went out of my comfort zone to support my youngest. First band up was Summersile. Musically tight but the singer had a small range. Not quite monotone but not far off. The whole set was metal/pop-punk.

2nd support act was Zakmes. My lad was phoned 2 weeks ago. The bass player was unavailable, would he fill in. He did. Drummer. guitarist/singer. My lad on bass. Considering they'd had one 2 hour and one one hour session together it was excellent. Varied set from pop/punk bangers to poppy ballads. Enjoyed it.

Main act was a US/UK band "As it is", based in Brighton, been together since 2012. Pop/punk/Metal. Not my bag but they are good at what they do.

Always good to see bands outside your interests. In a different universe to pop, punk or metal, I was dragged along to Stoke to see The proclaimers, damned fine group and pleasingly they defined their Scottishness through their vocals and lyrics not by over use of saltires and other visual easy hits.

Always good to see bands outside your interests. In a different universe to pop, punk or metal, I was dragged along to Stoke to see The proclaimers, damned fine group and pleasingly they defined their Scottishness through their vocals and lyrics not by over use of saltires and other visual easy hits.

He's doing another gig with them in August as well.

Solomon Burke - Cry to me. Swedish issue with a picture sleeve. Only 4 copies ever sold on Discogs (more have been sold elsewhere), the most expensive one was in NM condition and fetched 16.78 GBP almost 2 years ago. There's been one in a similar condition just aquctioned on eBay, went for 104.68 GBP (140.50 USD). I put a snipe bid in at 25 USD. Got nowhere near winning it.

Selling and buying. recently sold a Susan Rewis They say you found a new baby, Demo copy. 140 GBP. I'd paid 100 USD for it knowing there was a profit to be had.

Also bought a 25 copy sales box of Johnny Taylor - Seconds of your love. Paid ?85. Kept one, gave a mate a copy. The other 8 have gone for 110 GBP in total thus far.

Another was Big Mac - that's the way to treat your woman for 25, cost me 2.

Been after "Cry to me" for years. Never found the right condition price combo thus far.
