Indeed they are, saw them only a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed a chat with their bassist Dave Pegg and the current drummer Dave Mattacks, who a lot of people don't realise is one of the the best and most recorded drummers around! He has had a long career as a session musician and has played with the best across a range of genres.

GP's list is scarily close to mine - I see Gary Rossington (Lynyrd Skynyrd and possibly the last original member) died this week.

Recent gigs? Suzanne Vega, Richard Thompson, Nick Mason's Saucer full of Secrets (early Floyd stuff), Keith Hackett and his band doing early Genesis (Foxtrot at Fifty) plus his own solo work, Kast Off Kinks (with the original drummer!!), Show of Hands, hoping to get across to the States to see a farewell gig of the remains of the Grateful dead with a few additions known as Dead and Company.

I started this with the thought in my mind it would die a quick death. There seems to be quite a bit of life in it. Nice.

Currently listening to the John Kongas LP Africanism.

        Politics divides, music unites.

Maybe if we had musicians running the world it would be a better place

        But politicians making the music......

IMO he might have been the pres, but in that room the boss was sitting down in the middle. Just an opinion

And what a line-up - Warren Haynes, Keb Mo, Booker T etc etc

Ah well, I'm going to see Roger Waters in June and he seems to think he is an oracle and as for Right said Fred!!

Also I'm of the view that I admire the artist and their talent, I might not like them as human being, though many I've met in the flesh have seemed decent people.

His public speaking is better than his bass playing!

Waters is in NL in June. It's being billed as his 1st ever farewell tour

How many is he planning do you think?

Yes quite right, I would like to express my love for the greatest hits of Jedward and the Cheeky Girls at this point.

I believe the LP is titled "Jedward's greatest Hit"

This is apparently the actual one! I can't think he needs the money! I was going to see Peter Gabriel (IMO Genesis went downhill following his departure, I blame Phil Collins!) but the prices put me off. I don't mind stretching to £50 in a place with good acoustics and not a million miles from the stage but £120 and above in some godforsaken arena doesn't do it for me. Having said that Waters is at the O2, but I have through good fortune got seats near the stage and it hasn't cost me too much.

Believe it or not, may 9th although by the amount of coverage BBC are giving it you’d think it was this weekend. Still, it’s something they have rights to that they can push like mad til the lionesses have another game
