Quite popular in West Bengal apparently.
Anyway, we traditionally eat chicken, duck, turkey, partridge, pheasant, grouse, goose, pigeon and two dozen ‘blackbirds baked in a pie’. Why not Swan…apart from its impractical size being incompatible with most modern ovens?

    • I suppose the fairly low population of Swans would be an issue. One does worry if illegal immigrants up and down the country are eating Swans in their thousands then we could have another Dodo situation on our hands.

Based on the number of Swans and number crossing on small boats, then if uncle Nigels claims are true then they are probably due to be extinct by Tuesday.

                • I haven't seen the speech in full, but the issue seems time be they think it's inciting violence, although from the summary I haven't seen anything to suggest it is.

So inciting violence, Farage has a history of doing so, and spends his time happily in the company of racist violent individuals so he would know i guess if it was, so if Starmer did incite violence I'd agree it's not acceptable.

                  • Looks like Richard Tice has been stating Starmer said things he didn't in his speech.

Outright lies it would seem, but as they say , how do you know a reform politician is lying?, he's speaking.

Only the other day Reform claim no one even knows who Nathan Gill is, despite Farage clearly knowing him very well.

                      Ha ha classic!!

Its odd though, if one can appreciate that Starmer is actually doing a better job than the the last lot and not unsurprisingly finding government difficult having taken over a "a complete mess", plus the external issues in the world which is impacting on every government.

Whilst acknowledging that him and the government have made mistakes, need to improve on messaging and presentation and focus on more policies which can quickly make a positive difference to people's lives, that one poster at least considers that "blinkered".

The same poster who uses what he sees on Facebook or his anecdotal experience to from his world view!!

Farage is thin skinned, he can dish it out, but hates it when its returned at him. Shows Starmer is finally hitting the mark, he needs to do more of this and stop trying to appeal to the xenophobes and racists who won't vote Labour anyway.

                        • Rather good (though not for the long suffering people of Argentina) to see that Javier Milei, who has been cited by trump, Farage and Badenoch as the template for "good government" is now in deep crisis, as Argentina's economy slumps.

Javier Milei is “amazing”, said Farage, the CEO of the private company he calls Reform. “Cutting and slashing … doing all the things he’s done … that’s leadership.”

Funny, now Trump is using US tax payer money to prop up Milei's government, that the previous fans on the right are staying silent about this!

Mm your pithy asides really are a waste of your time!

I don't spare you a moments thought, just pop on here occasionally to make sure its not only the views of the misinformed and blinkered that are posted. For the sake of balance you understand? After all there is so much right wing *******s posted on here, that some more impressionable posters might think what you post is true or makes sense.

......by posting contrary blinkered and often misinformed opinions of your own?

where and who are all these impressionable posters? There are probably nor more regular contributers to this platform than I have toes on my feet (now sadly 9). i'd say maybe 9 of those 9 have long atanding polarised opinions of their own and are unlikely to budge an inch bacause anybody posts anything on here.

So dont delude yourself, you post on here to amuse yourself, take the p*iss and forment anger hence a response. Nothing wrong with that, I do it myself, but just be honest with yourself about motivation

I don't post on here to forment anger, I admit to taking the piss, its hard not to when such bilge is routinely posted by some people.

Some might not budge an inch, but when their inaccurate and misleading posts are effectively challenged, its not hard to tell that its had an impact.

My post was in any case a tongue in cheek response to Mr Faber whose statements have been roundly shown to be *******s of late and who was trying to make out I give a flying **** about him
