HM Opposition were clearly better briefed pre-encounter than HMG. I?m actually surprised Lammy didn?t combust, I?ve seen him worse

Because, despite Farage being, IMO, a dishonest, self serving empty vessel, there can be no doubt that he is a good communicator with a great deal of financial backing and - particularly at a time when the Tories have proved over many years to be useless and Labour haven’t exactly covered themselves in glory and are struggling to make much headway - gullible people will look for an alternative with a sort of ‘any port in a storm’ mentality.

I didn’t either, but reports suggest the Tory stand in, who few had ever heard of (James Cartlidge?) was even worse and lost count of the number of questions he was allowed to ask.

I think it?s a good job he did, Lammy looked fit to help in the most direct way with crime statistics. And even I noticed he wasn?t dressed properly

Do you mean the poppy? That does my head in with all on breakfast tv, politicians, newsreaders etc. Does anyone believe any have been out and purchased them?

That said I'd say it's his advisors that should have ensured he had one on. Maybe they did it deliberately.

Oh God, is that all. Maybe he thought it was bonfire night rather than Remembrance Sunday or Remembrance Day which is almost a week away. Forgot all about competitive poppy/flag wearing/point scoring.

Do you have the same view on armband wearing and knee taking? I don?t recall you doing so at the time, maybe your views have changed

I love Christmas too, but it’s a bit ‘less is more’ for me. Christmas Eve, Christmas morning, Christmas Dinner, Turkey sandwiches, seasonal football and a pantomime with the grandkids are amongst my favourite things. ‘It’s the most wonderful time of the year’ is reserved for spring and the return of warmth and sunshine though for me.

Don’t think I’ve ever worn an armband. Not quite the same anyway are they?
Maybe Lammy was badly advised or maybe he just forgot. I don’t know.
Hardly crime of the century though is it? Mind you I remember some old fuddy duddies getting all hot under the collar when I wore a white poppy at work in the early eighties. They said it wasn’t respectful. I disagreed.
