So now you’re second guessing / criticising / name calling the reaction of the lived experience of refugees from the Iranian regime. I’ll let them know.

Apparently he doesn?’t like the ?‘one liner?’ thread, some of which I find very funny and some of which I don?’t, but that?’s just the nature of humour. What is true though is that, throughout the thread?’s many posts only two people have posted tasteless/racist jokes. One is GP and the other supports Forest. Neither have ever been chastised by our moderator. Odd that.

As for GP. What can one say? I used to find him, in his previous RR incarnation, good fun. We disagreed about somethings and agreed on others. It was largely good natured banter. What we see now is different. It?’s often openly racist, bitter and sometimes slightly sick. Calling me ?‘racist?’ is simply laughable, but typical of the way he seeks to twist things. He?’s turned into Tricky, albeit a slightly more articulate version. Maybe he?’ll threaten to leave again - for the umpteenth time. Whether that will be any great loss is for others to decide. It was certainly a more peaceful place without him, imo.

Perhaps the pair of them are just more disappointed by RUK?’s result in Manchester than we thought.
Apologies. Site acting up again. Wouldn’t allow any tidying up of its own ridiculous alterations.

          I think they are spot-on

It’s just too great an opportunity to pass on for those desperate enough

I’d never do it at an election but I had four family members on duty to help me to common goal last week, specifically to get Rush tickets and I’m sure the touts ran a more sophisticated operation. You may have done similar to get Derby play-off tickets or know someone who did, it’s all the same, a form of cheating to achieve an objective

And, much as I wish it wasn’t, politics is more important to many than music

Utterly ridiculous to want to ban postal voting. We’ve voted by post in every election for the last decade, the reason being that we’re usually out of the country for about eight weeks of the year and have no wish to sacrifice our right to vote. Couple that with the fact that many elderly or disabled people just wouldn't make it to the ballot box - especially in poor/winter weather - and there are two damned good reasons for retaining postal votes. Farage really is behaving like a cry baby.

How can he say ban it though when he did it? How do we know he did it and wasn't coherced to vote for someone he didn't want to?

I have before when I was going to be away. No idea who my wife voted for, didn't ask im sure the vast majority of people who vote by post are legitimate, its only become an issue because Reform feel they have been robbed by 'bloody foreigners' of their rightful win. They aren't even hiding their racism in their response to the loss on Thursday.

Can be tricky though Sith. Either last month or late January we both got notification that our postal vote entitlement had expired and asked if we wished to renew, which we’ve done.
Around ten years ago there seemed to be a vote of some description every few months so we got into the habit then. I’m not organised enough to sort it for each time we go away and I’m certainly not sufficiently organised to avoid our holidays coinciding with any elections so I prefer just to set it up for whatever the period of time is, either 2 or 3 years…can’t remember.
I’m sure you’re right, those who genuinely benefit will vastly outnumber those who wish to use the system fraudulently, so why change something that seems, in my experience at least, to work well.

Reform UK and Labour were both well beaten. Starmer registered his disappointment, as he should have. In comparison Farage hasn’t stopped whining.

Badenoch also weighing in on the family voting but that's a bit like AFC Kilburn moaning Man City haven't had their charges revealed yet

Also don't recall Farage complaining about postal votes in the eu referendum

All a bit like Forest players laughing about how much they love VAR after they got two very dubious decisions in their favour on the play off final but haven't stopped whining since

                    • Also i think the fact Reform won Runcorn and Helsby by 0.02% with the amount of family voting and postal votes then its likely to have had more of an impact so maybe we should call for a rerun?

Interesting too he thinks postal votes should still be allowed for the elderly, his key demographic.

Come on AF, in an (Internet version) circle jerk, which this forum has become, dissent ist verboten. One has to become progressively extreme to make a dissenting point and then get attacked by the jerkers who perpetually agree with each other to feel self-important. Not that I care, it's just a forum but I wonder when Trump will send troops in to take Ayatullah rA and Ayatullah Swal out??

Not judging him. And not surprised he’s been hypocritical, he’s a politician after all. But we’re now well into the 21st century and IMO snail mail should be limited to those genuinely in need of it and (if they aren’t there already) other avenues of cheating removed

You do write some complete bollux these days, GP. You’re in the minority on this issue. So what, get over it and say what you actually believe or just stfu.

Just over two years ago when this thread was started you claimed to have ‘no thoughts’, other than having an immediate, irrelevant and unnecessary pop at both the thread and Swale and I in post #2 of what has since become 5,924. Would that it’d been true but, approaching 6000 posts later you’ve barely shut up, except when you’ve gone ‘awol’ because you’ve had another tantrum over something someone’s said or another breakdown of the forum.

People agree and disagree on forums. That’s the point. What ‘ist verboten’ and who by? Why, if you start attacking others - i.e. me who you’ve perversely implied as being racist - do you expect others not to comment? What you said wasn’t ‘dissent’ it was stupidity and others offering comment isn’t a case of ‘jerking’ (your word) any more than you and Andy constantly consoling each other is. Why are you referring to Ayatollah rA and Ayatollah Swale? What does that even mean?

I’d love a few answers, even though I very much doubt there’ll be any forthcoming, because it would at least stop your current incessant and sometimes offensive nonsense and give you the opportunity to return to who you used to be.

Well we are well into the 21st century so how about online voting. Got to be lots of ways that can be made more secure. Facial recognition being one.

I think there are reasons for discussing the legitimacy of changes to the system. Farages are just incredibly sour grapes though.

Its a bit like his comments about banning non British citizens from voting, which he's openly saying he means non white British citizens.
