I think you mean ‘The Gold’ which was on BBC iPlayer (not ITV). Agree it was very good but you probably needed to have watched S1 first.

No worries. ‘Mobland’ on Paramount+ is worth a watch too. Tom Hardy is superb and Joanne Froggart, Pierce Brosnan, and Paddy Consadine are all excellent while Helen Mirren is just brilliantly evil. Geoff Bell also stars…you may not recognise the name but you won’t forget the face. The sort you never, ever argue with.
Violent, foul mouthed and certainly not for anyone of a nervous disposition, but very good indeed imo.

            • Ice Road: Vengeance, sequel with Liam Neeson, Liam Neeson playing the same type of character he's played in loads of films since Taken. Really good silly fun though, who doesn't like a Liam Neeson action movie?

Looking forward to his upcoming Naked Gun film which will be a different type of role altogether. The trailer looks good, we need a few movies like Naked Gun and Airplane. Good silly humour.

RE para 1. me, I've never seen one!

RE para 2. No-one can replace Leslie Nielson in those roles. Liam Nelson may be more suited to a role playing Dennis Nielson.

                • He can be very dry Liam Neeson. Of course it won't be as good, Leslie Nielsen was superb in the role. Thing is it can be not as good but still funny. The Steve Martin pink panther films were funny but not close to the originals.

                  • Older movie I've never heard of before, A few best men. Comedy about a wedding between an English lad and Australian girl, him and his mates causing mayhem.

Absolutely hilarious, laughed out loud so many times. Think it just suited my sense of humour. Totally silly and gross at times.

Also has the stunning Olivia newton John in as the brides mother.

Noticed there is a sequel i also never heard of so that's on my list now.

                    • During my hospitalization and since watched a fair few movies

Superman (2025) Good fun but not a patch Superman 1 and 2

The new Mission Impossible, was ok, preferred the last one

Happy Gilmore 1 and 2. Good Fun, thoroughly enjoyed.

                      F1 Cheesy but enjoyable

Heads of State, really enjoyable action comedy with John Cena and Idris Elba

Thanks Sith, I'm not a fan of 'franchise' movies meself but glad they gave you some respite. I'll check out Happy Gilmore and Heads Of State. I was a 'plus 1' on the F1 release day showings in London (with my daughter) and unforgivably I forgot to go... I've watched it since and yes its cheesy but OK

                        • I know what you mean with franchise movies. I enjoyed the Marvel movies early on but have definitely had Marvel fatigue for a long time now.

The DC universe I'm just lost whats supposed to be happening, think we are on another reset now.

Did watch another which was a little odd called The Ballad of Wallis Island about a bit of an eccentric lottery winner (The brilliant Tim Key) who hires a famous folk band to do a gig for him only.

                          Really enjoyed that one.

Unusual Shark/Psycho movie with Jai Courtney, really enjoyed it, had a few cringe/can't look moments

It was ok, some funny moments but not a patch on the originals

                                Locke with Tom Hardy

Really enjoyed this, just a guy driving making phone calls but really engaging
