'BoxSet' rather than film, but we just finished 'Down Cemetery Road' (Apple) about 2am this morning. A very good thriller which got a bit slapstick at the end but was well worth the effort - Emma Thompson excelles in the joint-lead role, Adeel Akhtar plays his now familiar semi-bumbling official role, Fehinti Balogun (never seen him before) plays a bloody scary baddy. Some incidentally hilarious snippets (someone tries to describe the Balogun character in minute detail without daring to say he's black, a Scottish trawlerman has an absolutely epic rant about 15th century English/Scottish scraps etc) and there's a spot-on late cameo from Joshua James as Wayne the computer dweeb. Eight episodes

For those who enjoy a Western, ‘The Abandons’ on Netflix is, despite the slightly mixed reviews, an excellent watch, imo.
Seven episodes in all and slightly unusual in that the two main protagonists are matriarchs played by Gillian Anderson and Lena Headey.
Set largely in Washington State in the 1850’s, but actually filmed (I think) in Canada, it’s a well written, superbly acted, beautifully filmed, if occasionally brutal, account of life in the wild (north) west.

Just had the housemaid recommended by another trusted source, I?ll add that to the listOriginally posted by SithHappens View PostOne Battle after another. Leo Di Caprio stars in very entertaining movie, Sean Penn excellent too.
The Housemaid. Was ok. Sydney Sweeney getting her kit off was a highlight.

One I'd not heard of before. The Box from 2009 with Cameron Diaz.
It was a bit hammer house of horrors. The premise being a couple given a box with a button and if they choose to press the button they get 1 million but someone somewhere dies.
Set in the 70s which probably helps the hammer house comparison.
Really enjoyed it.

Two gritty dramas worth watching IMO, 'Power: The Downfall Of Huw Edwards' on Channel 5, subject matter obvious, and 'I Swear' on Netflix, triumph over adversity of a man with Tourettes Syndrome and incidentally filmed around Mrs F's birthplace

I swear definitely on my list, probably more so because of the controversy at the golden globes.Originally posted by Andy_Faber View Postthanks, I'll dig it out
