  • Matchday Thread: Wrexham v Derby

Are we envious of Wrexham being the darlings of the press? Not I, I just want a win and a decent performance

    Derby 2-0

    Anyone?

I foresee an end to our winless streak 1-1

I think they'll put up a sterner test than we'd like, we're a bit of a prize to a club like that, 1-1.

After a slow start they won at Norwich on Sat!
Whilst I think we are currently better suited to away games if we continue to play crap then that won't last.

          3-1 defeat!

I rather think you might be right, but hope springs eternal, so 1-1 I think.

Not the best time to play them. They’re full of confidence and we’re…not! They’re the new rich kids on the block and will enjoy looking for another big name scalp.
Hopefully JE will get the formation right for the whole ninety minutes this time.
I fear we’ll see Windass showing us what we missed in the summer and getting the winner but you never know. 2-2, more out of hope than reasoned optimism.

Either way we’ve got some huge home games coming up and, thankfully, we’ll soon be moving into October when I’ve always thought our fortunes will change.

                3 genuine points there rA.
JE...... his formations and subs use has confused many it would seem, perhaps he's confused?? 🤔
                Windass.... hat trick nailed on!
October..... ah things, always look greener blah blah! . An October fest would be nice but where will we be come Halloween, is it 😁 or 😪. Of course the witches brew might help JE. Maybe he'll feed the lads🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃??, desperate situations and all that!

Still second best team but much better than v Preston. Their scorer should have been sent off in the first half, appalling tackle, and we should have had a pen when Morris got wrestled in the second half. Gorgeous goal by Diaz. As usual we gave away possession with 80% of our throwins, what a waste of possession. No-one especially outstanding

Reading reports indifferent performances from both teams leading to a poor match.
A point again infers that at present JE's approach is more likely to work away from PP. Useful result but doesn't inspire hope of an improvement in the near future. Time will tell!

IMO we?ve been second best in every game so far, and worryingly even on-their-knees Sheffield Wednesday, who I?m now watching, look a level better than we do.

Fair result on the end, but dreadful referee. Clear red card only gives a yellow, and why did the ref make Adams go off after treatment? Thought if the player whi caused it got a card the rule didn't apply.

Bad ref. But still poor from us. Weiman can't cross to save his life, his first touch is appalling, and totally passive in defence. Travis can't make a 5 yard pass. Did we have a midfield today?
Are we a long ball team now?
2 Centre backs played well, Morris and Adebayang hustled, keeper did all he could... otherwise a poor performance.
Will repeat myself, are we a long ball team now?
A better team would have thrashed us today.

I did read this week that the long ball option is becoming the ‘new’ fashion, but c’mon guys, why the doom and gloom?
It’s still September. We’re still building a team, in fact I’d suggest there are still three players who will be first choice selections who still aren’t available.
A point from Wrexham, given all the current circumstances for both sides, isn’t so bad.
Be disappointed if we don’t manage at least 4/6 from the next two games but, without having watched, today’s result doesn’t seem so bad.

Yes we appear to be, I mentioned hoofball last week. I think JE has been watching to many Paul Warne videos.
